He would text me progress as he went as we were gone on a trip. He came back on a Saturday to clean up and make sure everything was in great order. Just Awesome."

"Basically, I had a cracked patio that former owner agreed to pay $2500 towards the repair of and I had severe drainage issues because there is a hill and water gushes onto patio and into crawl space. Rose's price on patio was higher, but I chose him because he said he would do 2 concrete stairs and the other contractor said he would do cinder block stairs. Also chose Rose because both said I needed a 40' drain created that ran parallel to the patio so the water never got to the patio and Rose was cheaper on that. The bid included $200 for a concrete step which I didn't realize was only for one, my fault since that would likely be too low, but the price was worth it. At the end of the job there were no steps so I asked and he stated he decided it wouldn't be good for either the patio or the house or both and he scratched that off the list of to-dos without consulting me. I still haven't been able to get steps and have to step up (and down) approx. 1-2 feet; I am 64. My brother who has been a concreter dispatcher for 30 years in CA looked at it after the fact and said there is no way he could do those steps for under $1000 and he had to know that. He took out my walkway which had no cracks whatsoever because he said it would help with the drainage and replaced with an exact replica of the previous one. I think he planned on doing something with the dirt between the house and the walkway for drainage but nothing was ever done except for leveling the dirt up to the day before the job "was done". So not sure what I was charged $600 for. He said they were almost done so I asked what about the 40' drain. He stated he had no recollection of us talking about that and I must be thinking of someone else. Finally agreed on a curb to block water for additional $900. Guess happy with, but need to address drainage along curb. Paid him in full which he was very aggressive about even though I had to wait for reimburse. Wouldn't meet me to cash $2500 after got but in his name."

Stamped and colored, patio and driveways, curb and gutter, parking lot paving and foundation stem wall
"This company damaged my fence, I am the neighbor of someone they were doing work for, and are now refusing to fix it. They’ve poured concrete directly onto my fence, never checking to see who owned said fence or if they had owners permission. The concrete is going to cause my fence to degrade faster than the natural elements would have and the owner of the company is taking no accountability. I was told he would remove the concrete when we decide to replace the fence, that is still intact and doing its job, so that could have been years from now but will have to happen sooner due to the increased damage caused by this company. I called around to several concrete companies and this is not an industry standard and they were quite appalled someone would have been so careless. Hopefully the owner rectifies the issue he created, you should always do due diligence before starting any job and they failed miserably."

Concrete can crack from general wear, improper installation, or in response to uneven support from the soil underneath. Small, thin cracks on the surface of aging concrete are usually a result of normal wear and tear, while cracks on new concrete more likely indicate a problem with installation. Larger cracks or uneven steps can signify a much more severe issue. A concrete contractor should be able to diagnose the cause and repair concrete cracks for you.
When hiring an asphalt paving contractor to install your driveway, ask as many questions up front as possible. Here are a few questions to ask a prospective driveway contractor:
How many years of experience do you have?
Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?
Do you have worker’s compensation?
Do you use subcontractors on your projects?
Do you clean up after the job is done?
Who is responsible for any damage to lawn or landscaping?
Do you provide a guarantee or warranty on your work?
Do you give free estimates?
What is the timeline for completion?
How do you handle change orders?
Can you provide at least three references?
Can I see some of the work you’ve done?
The cost to install a concrete driveway is $4 to $15 per square foot on average. Your price heavily depends on your desired concrete finish and driveway size.
For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay an average cost of $1,900. For a driveway at double that size (400 square feet), the average price is closer to $3,800. Plain concrete is significantly more cost-effective, averaging $7 per square foot, whereas stained concrete averages around $19 per square foot.
The cost of resurfacing concrete is $6 per square foot on average, though that cost can range from $3 to $9 per square foot.
For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay $600 to $1,800, and for a driveway that is 500 square feet, that cost averages $1,500 to $4,500. Resurfacing your driveway will give you the look and feel of a new surface without the hefty cost.
An asphalt driveway costs about $7 to $15 per square foot, including labor and materials. The cost will vary depending on your location, how thick the base material is, what prep is required, the thickness of the asphalt, and the accessibility of the job site. The national average cost to install an asphalt driveway is about $4,740.
