"I recently had installed a hot-mix asphalt surface on my driveway. It encompassed approximately 550 feet in length. A good portion of that footage was a single 11-foot lane, but as it approached my home there is a circle drive with a landscaped area and differing widths of paving was needed, which required some rather intricate work. Also, part of the job encompassed paving up to the concrete area in front of my 3 car garage and to the sidewalk leading to the front of our home. Nelson Boswell and his crew of professional staff did an outstanding job of researching exactly what I was looking for, developed a plan for manicuring the existing gravel drive base, and applying the asphalt surface. They were extremely courteous, attentive to my needs above everything else, and did what they said they were going to do. They also were able to complete the whole project in a span of two days. At the end of the project, I thoroughly inspected the work, and do not have a single complaint. In fact, I would readily recommend them to anyone! Oh, and one other thing: they were very cognizant of my lawn and landscaping, going above and beyond to make sure nothing was disturbed."

"John does what he says he will do. He has also done a back patio for us and we would give him a 5/5. He is currently creating a front patio with stained and stamped concrete and it looks amazing! We would highly recommend him and his team."

"The quality for the money was excellent! They completed the work, and did exactly what we asked for, and suggested changes that greatly improved the final product. The only inconvenience were minor delays in communication. That being said we will continue to use and recommend them for any of our concrete needs."

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts

Yes, a pressure washer uses less water than a garden hose. There are many ways to use a pressure washer, and it can be an eco-friendly hose substitute. While a pressure washer expels water with greater force, it uses 50% to 70% less water than a garden hose. Specifically, hoses put out six to 10 gallons per minute (GPM), while pressure washers only use two to five GPM.

Yes, you can pressure wash epoxy floors, but you must take precautions to avoid damaging the surface. While most epoxy floors can be cleaned with a mop, you might choose to pressure wash if the floor is stained, has ground-in dirt, or is covered with mold or mildew. To do so safely, first soak any stains or dirty areas with a gentle cleanser. Use a lower pressure setting with a gentle nozzle, such as a green, white, or black tip, or a 45-degree angled tip. Keep the spray nozzle at least 18 inches away from the floor to protect the surface. Using a surface cleaner attachment or a rotary scrubber can also help prevent overspray. Be cautious if using a power washer that heats the water, as the combination of heat and pressure may be too powerful and could damage the epoxy coating.

On average, pressure washing a house can take anywhere from 30 minutes to three hours. The time frame to pressure wash or power wash your home, fence, or other property depends on the size of the project and the complexity and accessibility of the areas that need cleaning. Part of the time required to complete the job includes setup and removal of equipment needed. A two-story house with a steep roof may require working from scaffolding or a ladder, likely adding to the time required to finish the project.

A pressure washer’s size or power is measured in pounds per square inch (PSI). The amount of pressure you need will depend on your project and the material you’re washing, but consumer pressure washers range from 500 to 2,400 PSI. Porous materials like brick and stucco should not be blasted with anything stronger than 1,000 PSI, while you can use a PSI of up to 2,400 to clean a vinyl fence.

You should always hook up your pressure washer to the water supply before turning it on and ensure there’s a good water flow. If you try to turn the machine on without water in the system, it overworks and overheats the unlubricated pump. This can quickly lead to irreversible damage.
