"The work is beautiful. He extended the existing deck and added stairs with a landing and added a roof . We love sitting on our deck and it’s extra special when it’s raining. He also added cedar louver shades on the west side that be opened or closed. We absolutely love our new space. Highly recommended!"

"After a scheduling delay due to cold weather, Richard and his assistant installed two exterior doors.  I'd previously checked with other companies about installation costs and all of them seemed to want to do a pre-hung door --which would have needed to be cut down for a shorter than normal door and an opening not on the square.
Richard was willing to install two slab, solid core door sand cut out and install a windows in them.  I ordered a half-round window via the internet and got a wood door slab from a lumber company across town.  The installation was a bit tricky and they needed to do some work on the door sills, including drilling out some concrete and they replaced.
Getting the component parts and paying the daily rate to get them installed (two-days job for two exterior doors, finishing the installation of an interior door and a few small projects) saved me money over the estimates for two pre-hung doors and installation.  I also got the windows I liked.  I still need to finish painting them, but they look marvelous!
(The amount given in the costs, is his standard rate for two days work, and does not include supplies purchased.)
Will need to wait for cold weather to really evaluate the difference the new doors make, but I anticipate that it will be significant.

"Mr. Costa came out the same afternoon I called him. It was pouring down rain and my gutters were overflowing. He cleaned the gutters and then recommended a way to stop the erosion on the side of my house. Very helpful!"

"A few months ago there was a hail storm that dented my gutters pretty bad. I had veteran construction come out to look at my property. My insurance company approved me to have my roof and my gutters done. I only wanted veteran to do the gutters because I have a family friend who does roofs and they were ok with that. They had my gutters replaced for me pretty fast and all the work got done in 1 day.

Patio Covers questions, answered by experts

Metal awnings last much longer than fabric thanks to their durability and resistance to fading, sun damage, and damage from the outside elements. They also need less maintenance than fabric options. Both items add curb appeal to your home, but you shouldn't expect either type of awning to add property value to your home.

The average cost to build a pergola ranges from $2,200 to $6,400, whereas the average cost of an awning ranges from $1,400 to $4,400, meaning that an awning tends to be less expensive to build or install than a pergola. Ultimately, the less expensive option depends on a few factors, including size, quality of materials used, and location.

The least expensive way to enclose a porch is with screens. These protect the room by preventing insects from entering and, if you live in a warm climate, provide excellent airflow during hot summer months. Screens cost far less than any other alternative, so if you are against getting permits, spending too much, or enclosing your porch in walls or glass, screens are the best choice.

Awnings offer a number of benefits, including:

  • Reduced summer home cooling costs with lower solar heat gains

  • Protection from sun, rain, and snow damage

  • Increased curb appeal for your home

Keep in mind that awnings also have drawbacks, including the potential to reduce your view, block natural light, and create new occasional home maintenance needs.

Acrylic, polyester, and vinyl are common options. Choose based on durability, UV resistance, and style.
