We have been in business for over a decade, refinishing dressers, end tables, dining sets, bookshelves, and more. We enjoy giving older furniture a revived look, sometimes with a modern twist, while repairing and refinishing wood furniture of all shapes and sizes. Our company offers pick up and delivery throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin, including our weekly trip to the Twin Cities and surrounding suburbs.

"My 45 year old hand-made redwood bench was brought back to how it looked when I made it. VERY good work, you can see the care they put into it."

Furniture Reupholstery questions, answered by experts

Many upholsterers allow you to provide your own fabric, which can help control costs and ensure you get the exact style you want. Some upholsterers offer a selection of fabrics to choose from, while others may require you to purchase it at a fabric store. Be sure to check with your upholsterer about fabric suitability, required yardage, and any additional fees for using customer-supplied materials.

Craftsmanship begins with detailed design followed by skilled artisans shaping high-quality materials into the desired furniture, ensuring durability and uniqueness.

Furniture reupholstery costs vary based on many factors, but most projects cost between $350 and $1,100, with an average price of $700 per piece. Some factors that affect the price of furniture reupholstery include:

  • Size of the piece

  • Current condition of the material

  • Materials used

  • Age of your furniture

  • Additional furniture repairs

  • Number of pieces of furniture

  • Your location and whether or not the work is done on-site

DIY upholstery is feasible for simple pieces with the right tools and skills, though intricate jobs typically require professional expertise for the best results.

Doing your own upholstery work is possible, but it’s typically a better idea to leave the work to professionals. Without experience and the proper tools, it’s difficult to get a professionally finished appearance for your furniture, and many DIYers end up spending money on tools and materials only to hire a professional when they can’t get the fabric to look right. If you have reupholstery experience, feel free to give it a shot. However, if you’re not confident in your skill level or you’re working with antiques, it’s worth the money to hire a pro.
