Jake Wieser Construction, Inc. is a family owned firm owned with Jake Wieser as principal owner. Raised around his dad's plumbing and excavating business and his grandparent's dairy farm, Jake learned about hard work and honesty at a very early age. He began his construction career as an apprentice carpenter with a local commercial contractor. Learning the trade through hands-on experience, Jake became a journeyman carpenter and quickly progressed to a job foreman. Captured by entrepreneurial spirit, Jake formed Jake Wieser Construction, Inc. in 1989 with the desire to provide quality construction services at competitive prices. Depending on the severity of the freeze and the method used, thawing frozen underground pipes can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours. Applying heat directly to the pipe using heat tape, infrared lamps, or hot water jetting can speed up the process. However, patience and careful monitoring are key to avoiding pipe damage.

While general contractors sometimes handle demolition, you can also look specifically for local demolition contractors. Demolition experts need to understand structural integrity, the equipment needed for safe demolition, and the permits required for demolition.

We recommend removing the stump, and grinding is a popular way to do it. You can also dig out small stumps or stumps that have fully decayed instead of grinding them. However, don’t try using acids or fire for killing a tree stump, which is a fire hazard and illegal in many areas.

Leaving the stump alone invites eventual problems, including attracting termites, mold, and fungi.

Above the gravel, you’ll often find coarse sand that helps reduce paver shifting over time. Some permeable paver designs include a water collection system set into the gravel layer to route runoff to a safe area for disposal.
