"ornHe showed up early and had most of the outside inspection done before I got there, he said he knew it was along process and boring for the client while he did his job so he likes to start before we get there, it was a great idea. He thoroughly inspected the house from top to bottom and gave us a very thorough report. Told us how to repair a couple of things and told us we could call him anytime if we had questions or needed to know how to do something, he would walk us thru it if need be. He was very friendly and professional.
He provided us a detailed report with pictures on every aspect of the home and all his good points and bad. I would highly recommend this company.

Property Appraiser questions, answered by experts

In most cases, installing a tennis court on your property will drive up your property taxes. Property taxes are determined, in part, based on improvements made to your property, which includes anything with a permanent foundation. Since most home tennis courts include a large concrete foundation, your property taxes will likely increase following the installation. A general rule of thumb is that if your project requires permits—like for a foundation or fencing for a tennis court—then your property taxes will be affected.

Land doesn’t depreciate in the same way that a house, vehicle, or other property does, but it can lose value based on various factors. Environmental changes, nearby development, zoning changes, and economic downturns can all cause land to lose value over time. Value is a comparative figure, so as other related factors change, so can land’s value.

Yes, home appraisers look at your windows when appraising your property to determine the market value of your home. They’ll factor in the type of windows, quality, condition, whether or not there are screens covering the windows, frame materials, size, insulation, and more to come up with an unbiased property assessment.

Whether or not new windows increase property taxes depends on where you live and by how much your upgrade increases your home’s value. Smaller projects likely won’t result in increased property taxes, but it’s always a good idea to err on the side of caution and check. Contact your local county appraisal department for the most accurate information about property taxes in your area.

The condition and appearance of your yard can affect your home appraisal value. A well-maintained, attractive yard with curb appeal adds to a property’s value, while an overgrown, messy, poorly maintained yard can hurt your home’s appraisal. Even small cosmetic improvements to your yard, like adding mulch, trimming trees, and cleaning out plant beds, can help your appraisal value.
