    The lawn looks terrible. I’m really disappointed in the quality of work that was done. They skipped a lot of the grass leaving it patchy, and uneven. The girl working was unprofessional. She did communicate quickly, though. The price was fair, but the work we paid for wasn’t done correctly.

    Custom lawn care has done a great job. My lawn has not look this good for quite some time. I had another lawn care service for quite some time. They brought lawn diseases and my lawn never greened up. With Custom may lawn greens up a week or two after they apply and the weeds are gone.

Carpetgrass is distinguishable by its pale green to yellowish color and coarse appearance that grows well under shady conditions in poor and compact soils. If it grows uncontrolled, it tends to develop a hairy seedhead, giving patches of grass a messy appearance. If carpetgrass is regularly cut, it looks very similar to centipedegrass and St. Augustine grass, and people may confuse them. Carpetgrass blades are flat and rounded at the tip. Note that the grass only typically grows as a weed in Southern states.

If your grass is stressed from being over-trimmed, try watering it heavily and then allowing it to recover for at least two weeks before mowing again. If you notice brown patches where the grass has died off because it’s too short, you should remove the dead grass and overseed the area. Leaving dead patches can invite weeds and other problems, so if you want a totally green lawn, getting rid of dead patches should include removing the dead sections before reseeding the area.

Ticks prefer tall grass and seek out shady and moist areas. So, in some instances a no-mow lawn may increase tick population in your yard. This scenario is not ideal if you spend lots of time in your yard or if you have pets. If you spray pesticide then this can also harm the pollinators. However, you can make a DIY tick killer with more natural ingredients to avoid using toxic chemicals.

Whether you're manually watering your lawn with a hose or using an irrigation system, it's always best to water the grass in the morning. It may not seem like it makes a difference, but nighttime is colder and winds are likely to be stronger. Strong winds will push the water droplets away from the grass, and the temperature will be too low for the water to evaporate, and thus get absorbed by the soil. However, watering the lawn during peak afternoon sun does the opposite, and the water evaporates too quickly.

Sometimes, pulling nutgrass can cause it to spread. If you do not discard the plant and rhizomes, the nutlets attached to the roots may each sprout. However, if you pull nutgrass repeatedly over the course of several weeks and discard the plant each time, it will weaken the plant significantly, eventually leading to its disappearance.
