They are a small local operation, but dedicated and professional. Even in the dead of winter, their phone is always ringing and their auto bay is full--a testament to the fact that they do good work and have a loyal client base. My fiance had his car tires balanced, oil changed, and an overall check-up. He's getting new tires through them this Friday (he's well overdue!). I had snow tires put on and my oil changed, and they did a great job. My car needs the dealership to connect sensors to the tires, and both the mechanic and the girl at the front desk (who is too knowledgeable to be just a receptionist) made a point to tell me about the fact that my sensor light will come on unless I go to the dealership to have it connected, or get it reprogrammed. I'm fine with this, and knew it already, but they made sure that I was aware so that there were no nasty surprises. Work done quickly and for a very fair price. Would highly recommend! (which would have required removing the freezer door and the entire white plastic freezer compartmen liner to access those parts). Mr. Kenney's expert diagnosis pinpointed the problem to the main control board (where its defrost relay was not working) - and this was a far less costly repair. After this repair experience we bought a quality single-outlet UL 1449 Listed surge suppressor (840 joules, < 1 nanosecond response time, 330Vac clamping voltage, H-N, N-G, H-G protection) to hopefully prevent any potential damage to our refrigerator/freezer electronics or motor from power spikes and surges... (we've had a number of power interruptions over the 3 year period since our refrigerator was new and this may possibly have been the cause of an eventual failure of the main control board?); if the surge suppressor works it will be cheap insurance."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/sc/aiken/kenney%27s-appliance-service-reviews-343738.htm"},"position":6},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"DEAN'S AUTOMOTIVE SVC","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"MI","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Doug H."},"reviewBody":"Horrible. Didn't stick with his deal about the engine work, and still left with a BROKEN and DIRTY car thanks to him. Went to another mechanic who did it for $700 for EVERYTHING. I will NEVER go back to dean's, not even for an oil change.
Other Things:
1. He had taken my car for a test drive after the valve
cover was done on it. He had left dirt all over the drivers side in the
car that I had to clean up.
2. He kept getting my last name wrong, even on the invoices, and even when I took the car.
3. Tried to convince me to buy a whole new engine from him, and pay him to put it into the car.
4. Why didn't he check the engine light and see in the first place? Wasn't thorough enough to catch what was wrong apparently.

Other services they have done for me include installing a whole house tankless hot water system, installing a shower and toiler, routine furnace inspection, and adding an air conditioner and dehumidifier to existing furnace. They have also responded promptly when I need repairs done on an emergent basis. I cannot say enough good things about this business. They give written estimates promptly and follow through with prompt, efficient and expert service. In winter 07-08 furnace malfunctioned, wouldn't start automatically and had to be reset manually to get through the night. We had 5 HVAC professionals, including Climatron, inspect the furnace. The first HVAC firm came and inspected furnace. He looked at soot visible at vent and saw the soot at the furnace water drain and the orange flame and said we'd have to replace the system. He advised that we go back to Climatron and Lennox and seek help from them as the furnace was only 7 years old. I contacted Climatron and explained the problem and pointed out that the exhaust vent from the furnace was visibly full of soot and dripping water and that the flame was burning orange. Climatron sent a technician out. He proceeded to dismantle furnace and exposed the soot covered part. He called Lennox company to discuss with service agent. They basically said tough luck, if we wanted to clean furnace it likely would cost nearly as much as replacing it and would likely not function properly. Climatron charged me $220 for the service call and while the service technician waited, sent a sales manager to our house to give an estimate for replacing the system. We then asked three other HVAC professionals to inspect system and advise us. They agreed that the furnace needed to be replaced and were all surprised that neither Lennox or Climatron offered any help financially to offset the costs. We decided that we'd prefer not to engage Climatron's services and would contract with a local HVAC firm. Prior to removing old furnace, the installer checked the gas pressure at the furnace. It was lower than specs called for (9.5 vs 10.0 inches column/H2O). In addition, the horizontal portion of the auxiliary vent fan was not level and held water. More problematic was the discovery that the horizontal portion of the exhaust vent from the furnace was sagging for several feet before exiting the wall and held enough considerable water. All of this piping had to be removed and the wall was capped. The vent was redone vertically straight up from the furnace. The water heater also was malfunctioning. The installer thought the exhaust runs were too long and not providing adequate capacity for ventilation. The exhaust vent was redone vertically and the water heater now works perfectly. We informed Climatron of the problems we uncovered. They responded that their \"job supervisor checked over the installation and found no problems\". And that \"Antrim County mechanical Department inspected the installation and approved the final inspection\". (department was dismantled and taken over by State of Michigan shortly after!). We much money undoing Climatron's work. Their written response to my complaint was to point out that their sales rep came at no charge and that their bill for diagnosis was justified. They argued poor maintenance was the problem. I feel both Lennox and Climatron acted unprofessionally and irresponsibly."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/mi/traverse-city/climatron--b-f-s-i-reviews-478098.htm"},"position":10}]}

My experience with Chris Storms at AHS was very positive. He did more than answer my questions. He asked questions that caused me to reconsider the scope of the project -- and I'm very glad I did. Ultimately we decided to leverage the wood furnace to heat and provide hot water for two...

A very personable young man. My furnace is an "octopus" and even though he was not familiar, Mike came to look at it and I believe he will be able to help us maintain it. I will certainly call him for future plumbing and heating needs.
Everything went well from start to finish. Dan Montgomery (Comfort Consultant) came by my place one afternoon (right on time) to introduce me to the brand name Trane, furnaces and air conditioners. Dan looked over my existing furnace, did some room measurements, looked over my house from top...

Heating Oil questions, answered by experts
You need to service an HVAC system about twice per year, with a service including an inspection and basic maintenance. It’s best to schedule maintenance in the spring (after the furnace has been running and before the AC kicks on) and in the fall (after the AC worked hard all summer and before winter’s first chill arrives).
Regular HVAC services will keep the system working as efficiently as possible, saving you money on utilities and larger repairs. HVAC maintenance costs around $250 per visit, while bigger repairs from forgotten upkeep could cost thousands.
For most systems, an annual HVAC system service is more than enough. Some homeowners prefer a twice-a-year visit to ensure the system is ready for the upcoming summer and winter seasons. If you need to call an HVAC pro more often than this, it may be time to check if your system is getting old enough for a replacement.
NATE-certified technicians may charge slightly higher service fees compared to non-certified technicians. This is because NATE certification signifies a higher level of expertise and professionalism, often leading to more efficient and effective HVAC repairs and installations. While the upfront cost may be marginally higher, NATE-certified technicians can potentially save you money in the long run by reducing energy consumption, preventing frequent breakdowns, and extending the life span of your HVAC system. When looking for a local HVAC company to hire, it never hurts to ask about NATE certifications.
An evaporator or swamp cooler is a common alternative for small spaces. These coolers blow moist air into a space to help cool it down. They are more affordable than misters and use much less water. However, coolers will not have the same cooling effect as misters, cannot help plants survive the heat, and only reach a small area.
Yes, geothermal heat pumps are worth the money. You can save about 70% on heating costs in the winter and around 50% on cooling costs in the summer with a geothermal heat pump compared to a traditional HVAC system. Over time, your savings on monthly utilities will pay for the cost of the geothermal heat pump installation. If you have an incredibly small yard, however, you may not have enough space for this type of system.
