"Chris Peplinski came out and gave us a fair and honest estimate on fixing our foundation. Alex and crew arrived and installed helical piers to shore up our foundation and you couldn’t tell they were even here. Everything from the first call to the install was top notch! Highly Recommend!"

"When we got to our cabin (inJanuary) the water wasn’t working. One of Jim's Well Drilling crews came out and determined that the pump was frozen due the the pump heater not working. We got the heater working and they said that it should be fine in a couple of hours. Later in the day still no water. I opened a tap in the cabin and went back down to the pump and water was coming out of the bottom of the pump. I inspected the pump and found a large crack in the bottom which could easily be seen had it been thoroughly inspected. I ended up buying a pump and installing it myself. For the $150 they charge for a visit I’d expect a correct diagnosis of the problem and an estimate of what it would cost to repair. They told me "Look on the bright side. You save a lot of money by doing it yourself. We would have charged a $1000." I will not use this company again and would not recommend them. There are many better options in the area."

"The whole process of quoting, sales presentation, finance arrangement, installation was simple, timely, professional, complete and painless. The price was very competitive, the installation was smooth and prompt, and the end product is thing of beauty. This review is from a homeowner who has had a couple of terrible furnace experiences in the past decade."

Wells and Pumps questions, answered by experts

Regular checks of pressure tanks, testing water quality, and cleaning intake screens.

There are several common causes of low water pressure in your sprinkler system, including clogged sprinkler heads and issues with your backflow preventer valve. Start by inspecting and cleaning your sprinkler heads to ensure they’re in working order and there aren’t any blockages. Then, check your backflow preventer valve to ensure it’s open. If you spot damage to it, hire a sprinkler pro to repair or replace it.

The costs depend on whether you are buying into an existing well or starting from scratch. The average well drilling cost is between $25 and $60 per foot. The average cost to repair a well is between $350 and $1500. If you have a shared agreement and a community association, there will be additional legal and administrative fees.

Wells should be at least 100 feet deep for drinking water, but they may need to be deeper depending on the local geology, water quality, and your household’s water usage. Work with a qualified well drilling professional who can assess the appropriate depth for your well and test the water before drinking it.

If you have a self-cleaning washing machine but you’re still seeing lint, your water pump filter might be clogged. To clean it, you should unscrew the drain hose, then remove the water pump filter. From there, you can inspect it and clean it with warm water before replacing it. Check to be sure your washing machine is functioning by running a short cycle.
