The Dollman crew that did the actual demolition and construction were also professional, on-time, polite, highly skilled, and hard-working. The detail in the carpentry work was exceptional. The trim in the remodeled addition matches the woodwork in the original part of the house (1920s) beautifully. They also salvaged and reused some stained glass cabinet doors in the kitchen. Overall, they seemed to take pride in work well-done as well as wanting to help keep the character of the house.
Equally importantly, at the end of the day, the worksite was always cleaned up. If on a rare occasion something was missed in the clean-up, as soon as it was pointed out it was remedied with apologies and never an excuse. As we worked through finishing detail, they also were willing to promptly take care of anything that emerged.

There was only sizable snowstorm the first winter with the new roof; there were significant ice dams building up but a warm spell melted them away. The next winter (just past) brought several significant storms and the ice dams were the biggest I've seen, down to the ground at one corner. Despite my stated (to ABFM) desire to never have to climb up on my roof to melt and chip the ice down, I found myself repeatedly doing so. Then one morning, the gutter on the front of the house broke free and crashed on the ground and a small porch by the front door. The only damage, aside from the gutter itself, was to two rails on the front porch. Mr. Kramer did agree to meet with me and talk about the matter. He offered to help me install a replacement gutter (to be purchased by me). I am not satisfied because the ice dam buildup was worse than before and, even though I expressed that my main goal for the entire job was to not have to worry about ice dams again, and even though he replaced every component involved in ice dam buildup, e.g., insulation, soffits, roof, drip edge, and gutters; he felt that natural forces (in this case, a Maine winter, the only real Maine winter the roof system ever experienced) were the cause and felt that he had properly executed the contract. I feel otherwise - I feel that the roof should have survived at least one snowy Maine winter."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/me/richmond/abfm-construction-and-home-improvement-reviews-2268112.htm"},"position":3}]}

If you decide an in-ground or wall-mounted basketball hoop is best for you, you should consult a basketball hoop installer. They will have the necessary tools and experience to install these correctly and safely. If you were to try to install these yourself, there is a risk of injury or improper installation, which could lead to damage to the hoop or your yard.
The cost to install a basketball hoop can range from $200 to $5,000. This price heavily depends on the type of basketball hoop you choose, as some require equipment and some do not.
For example, you can most likely assemble a portable basketball hoop yourself, with a cost of $150 to $500. However, if you're looking for something more permanent, a roof-mounted hoop requires specialized tools and roof anchors, costing a total of $2,000 to $5,000.
The time to install your basketball hoop depends on the type of hoop you're installing.
For in-ground hoops, it's best to allow at least five days total for the entire process, which includes any utility marking, hole excavation, anchor placement, concrete pouring and setting, and final setup of the hoop itself.
The time to set up a mounted basketball hoop is significantly shorter, with most projects completed in just a few hours.
While there's not a lot of definite research, some experts suggest that an in-ground or wall-mounted basketball hoop can add value to your home by increasing curb appeal. In addition, having a basketball hoop is an attractive feature of a house since it promotes physical activity, especially for children.
There are many different types of basketball hoops available to choose from.
Portable hoops are fully moveable and generally do not require assistance with assembly.
Semi-portable in-ground hoops have an anchor cemented in the ground and a removable post.
In-ground hoops are fully built into the ground as one piece and cannot be relocated after placement.
Wall-mounted hoops do not have a post or pole and work well when space is limited.
