Masonry is an umbrella term that involves adhering individual building materials together using an adhesive, so many different things are considered masonry. You can use adhesive strips to hang lights on brick—just make sure you get outdoor mounting tape and not just any old double-sided tape for your project.

Yes, technically, you can pressure wash the paint off of brick. However, you run a much greater risk of damaging the brick and causing serious problems.
