I graduated from Maine Maritime Academy and currently do have a day job but am looking for some side jobs for extra money. I built an addition on my house and found that I have quite a bit of talent in all areas of a house. I’ve installed my own heat pumps in my home, I’ve poured slabs, did all of the plumbing, electrical, insulation, drywall, flooring, trimming, doors etc. I learned a great deal and would like to put that knowledge to use.

Unfreezing an AC unit is not a DIY project unless the problem is a dirty air filter. Changing out an air filter is easy for homeowners, but otherwise, trying to repair ductwork, refill refrigerant, or replace a blower fan motor are tasks best left to the pros. For instance, it can result in higher monthly energy costs as the system runs longer to compensate for the mismatch. This mismatch can also put extra stress on the system, compromising its efficiency and longevity.
