"I needed my house and garage painted. It was completed within the time frame I was given. The quality was really good and I got it completed for less then what I was expecting to pay to get this done. He was very professional and worked within my requested hours as to not interfere with my day to day activities. I didn't like the initial color I chose when I asked to change it he didn't hesitate to help me pick a new color."

"Andy did an excellent job of cleaning 20 years of bottom paint off the bottom of my 21 foot fiberglass boat. Paint was removed to the boot stripe and there was no damage to the glass. The work was completed in my yard which was left clean with no residue. Great job"

However, to get the most out of your Ipe wood deck, you should perform some routine maintenance, including regular cleaning, sweeping of leaves and debris, and rinsing spills with a hose. It’s also important to repair any deep scratches as soon as you spot them and reseal the deck annually to protect against scratches and scuffs.

Staining a deck with a rag is typically a better option than using a brush, as it helps the stain penetrate deeper into the wood. However, both brushes and rags are best reserved for detailed work because using these tools on an entire deck can require tediously crawling around on your hands and knees. A pad applicator, sprayer, or roller are preferred alternatives to applying stain over the majority of a deck. Use a rag for railings and other detailed work, and let the wood soak up as much of the stain as possible before wiping away drips or pools.

Always sand a deck before repainting so the wood is smooth and ready for paint. While you do not need to fully remove paint before repainting, sanding helps remove any areas with weather and sun damage. You can apply stain over peeling stain, but it’s not a good idea. Your old stain will get in the way of your new stain bonding to the wood, so you’re likely going to see the same issue again shortly after application. Your best option is to sand off the old stain and clean the surface thoroughly before applying new stain.
