"I was at wits end finding a contractor and lucked out getting Clean Slate Home Services. Not only did Josh(owner) return my call but he also answered my questions without making me feel like a nuisance. He quickly came out, looked at the roof and gave me a reasonable estimate. The work he and his crew did was quick, and made sure they didn't cause me any inconvenience to my going in and out of the house or driveway. Any future repair or remodeling will be using this company."

"Originally hoped to repair a set of exterior stairs, add a rail to a second stair set, and re-deck a raised deck/platform. Extensive wood rot required rebuilding the stairs and substantially rebuilding the deck. A new set of stairs was also built to m a ke the raised deck accessible/usable. While the expanded project exceeded the initial estimate, the work was needed. All work was performed to high quality standards, and completed as promptly as possible, given weather delays. Contravtor communication was good, and he kept the works items clean as nd organized throughout."

"Prompt, reasonable and professional. Good crew. Came up with great ideas on other projects I have in mind. Love my new ceiling, they fixed all the rot in my subfloors and prepped for new flooring. Would recommend for all your weekend projects. Did I mention they work efficiently? what they got done in a weekend probably would have taken a 4 man crew a week. Nick, Gerry and Frank are the crew for you."

Grill Assembly questions, answered by experts

The cost of a gas grill burner ranges from $10 to $100 or more, depending on the brand. If you’re replacing one burner, consider replacing all the burners simultaneously. Although it will cost more upfront, it will save you the hassle of replacing a burner every few months, and your grill will cook more evenly and efficiently.

Yes, you can lay a gas grill flat during transportation. Laying it flat can help prevent it from moving around the truck during the journey. It’s still advisable to secure the grill with bungee cords, just in case.

While it’s possible to repair minor grill issues like replacing a burner, more serious issues are clear indicators that you need to replace the entire unit. A few signs that your gas grill may be at the end of its life span and it’s time to consider replacing it include:

  • Rusty or cracked firebox

  • Weak, yellow, or uneven flames

  • Flaking, cracking grates

  • Leaking or cracked propane hoses

  • Failing igniter

  • Heavy buildup of grease

Gas grill installation costs around $540 on average, not including the price of the actual grill, and most homeowners pay between $120 and $1,400. This total will go toward laying down a new gas line, connecting it to your existing gas system, pressure testing the line, and connecting it to your grill. Your total project price will depend on the length of the gas line, whether or not the line needs to be installed underground, and the cost of the permits in your area.

On average, a gas grill can last from five to 15 years. The exact lifespan depends on several factors, including the brand and quality of the grill, frequency of use, and whether the gas line is buried or above ground. With proper maintenance and care, such as regular deep cleanings to remove food, grease, and carbon deposits, a grill's life can be extended. Protecting the grill from the elements with a cover can also prevent rust and reduce the need for repairs. Most grill manufacturers also offer extended warranties, which vary in coverage and terms.
