"I was impressed with his efficiency and candor.  He was also helpful in directing me toward lawn tractors that I should consider for my next purchase.  It was a pleasant surprise when he stated he was going to make sure I got a refund of the $50 spent on the special offer.

"Outstanding job. We had a few fruit trees and multiple shrubs, weeds, overgrowth removed from an out of control flower bed. Following the very thorough job, no root left behind, Tom's team (who are fantastic by the way) also completed edging and lots of mulching. They also reorganized our lighting system, which was very helpful. There was no damage done to any surrounding structures and we are just so thrilled with the result. We now have a perfectly clean slate to begin new growth. This family-run company is honest, fair, and detail oriented. Tom is very knowledgable about so many landscaping things. Both he and his son Dylan are very professional and take pride in their work. We look forward to other projects with them! Thank you!"

"Communication was great. Quote was given quickly and was very fair. Answered all of my many questions on things I didn't understand in regards to how the roof would be built. Scheduled very quickly and was able to give me advance notice so I could plan to remove my dogs from the house. Showed up on time and completed within 2 days. The roof looks great, no issues."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Yes, but it works best with lightweight snowblowers, the single-stage models or electric versions. Also, you need to have a rubberized intake edge on the ground and preferably rubberized auger paddles, not a metal version. Otherwise you may chip or damage the surface as you work. When it doubt, let the snow lie.

You can also use a snow blower on leveled gravel, but only if you carefully adjust the intake height so it doesn’t kick up the gravel and turn it into flying missiles.

When it comes to deciding whether a two-stage or three-stage snow blower is better, you must consider the amount of snowfall you get, the size of the area, and your budget.

A three-stage snow blower is more efficient at clearing higher volumes of snow quicker and removing ice build-up. It’s ideal for commercial use and removing snow from large areas. Make sure to compare various types of snow removal equipment to ensure you purchase the one that is best for your needs.

While removing every snowflake from your roof is unnecessary, you should remove a significant buildup of snow. Since snow is wet and heavy, it can easily cause damage to your roof, which can lead to needing costly repairs.

Additionally, when the snow melts but has nowhere to go and refreezes, it can create an ice dam, causing mold concerns due to water leaking into your attic and ceiling. For these reasons, it’s best to hire a snow removal professional to clear heavy snowfall from your roof as soon as possible.

Schedule regular snow removal, apply salt or sand to icy areas, and mark hazards like curbs or drains.

The process to winterize your landscaping depends on the plants you have, but generally speaking, you should rake your lawn to avoid leaves from smothering your grass and leading to mold and fungi growth, wrap young trees to protect from fluctuating temperatures, and fertilize your lawn to provide some nutrients for the grass through the colder temperatures. You can also consider marking off small trees and shrubs to avoid accidentally damaging them with snow removal tools.
