"I had a leak in my roof and it cause my upper floor ceiling to collapse. I needed to get tarp placed on the roof in order to mitigate further damage. It was an emergency situation because the forecast called for rain the next day. When I went on Angies List to get someone American Group Construction was the first to reply. Isai was able to come out the same day and place the tarp on the roof. I was so impressed with the professionalism I wanted them to fix the roof. He was very nice and professional. He went over what needed to be done and worked with me with respect to the home insurance company. He kept in touch with me throughout the process and was on time. The work was done as scheduled and was completed on time. I was very pleased with Isai and American Group Construction. I would definitely recommend them for work."

"P. J. McTavish & Co. from Burtonsville, MD was hired to replace and repair a very old damaged roof on my Rancher Home, which has a few additions in the rear. These additions have many peaks, valleys and an area of flat roof. We had many other companies look at it and some didn’t even want to take on the job, and if they did it was for a price I could not afford. I had officially given up hope. This truly was not an easy job to partake in. Hiring P.J. McTavish & Co. was truly the best decision. Mr. Pat was caring and truthful about the horrible shape my roof was in. I knew he was being truly honest, cause I heard from other contractors the same problems. But he assured us his team would do the job as efficiently as possible. Each and everyone on his team were respectful, efficient, and professional. I was so impressed with how his team worked so closely together and seemed to take a lot of respect in their work, and our home and yard…which let’s be honest…you do not see that much in today’s world. Pat kept us well informed of all the progress. There are not enough “Thank You’s” I can give to this whole team of wonderful men. Everyone stayed steadily busy and worked very hard. Southernwood took root in La Plata, Maryland 13 years ago as a custom home building company locally owned and operated by lifetime La Plata residents Andy and Frank (F.D) Mudd. Since then Southernwood has continually expanded its service base, extending its client list to include home buyers and owners, as well as a range of local and national builders. In 2006, the brothers formed Southernwood Framing, quickly growing the company within the residential housing market from about 150 homes per year to its current operating pace of 800+ homes per year. They continually demonstrate their ability to perform a quality job at an efficient pace, while always remaining a team player in the hectic world of new construction. Expanding the company further, Andy and F.D. formed Southernwood Roofing and Siding in February of 2012. They quickly gained ground in the industry with the help of 10-year industry veteran Ken Gentry who was hired on as Vice President to handle day-to-day operations. Ken shares the Mudd brothers’ laid-back, get it done attitude, and more than understands the importance of delivering quality work in a timely fashion.
