"EcoGeek responded to my search for pest control, came that day and launched an all out attack on my mice invasion (which had caused terrible flood)damage due to the gnawing of water tubes in appliances. Within 2-3 weeks problem seems conquered. Felt they were scientific about approach, safe (b/c I have dogs) and effective. And totally responsive to my phone calls and questions. Highly recommend Michael Travers and Jerry."

"Overall unbelievable service. I had racoons in my attic discovered the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. I did not think I would be able to find anyone to help right away given the timing. Trap All picked up the phone right away and were at my house within an hour. They were able to resolve the issue and remove the racoons within a few hours of my initial call. There was one cub that was left and they came back immediately the next day when I discovered one was still in the house. And they replaced my vent and fixed the duct work that was damaged by the racoons. Very reasonably priced, reliable, fast, excellent service, all with a smile...I recommend Trap All highly. Thank You!"

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

Generally, spring is the best time to hire a pest control service, but it also depends on when you notice the infestation. Insect pest numbers are lower in spring before they hatch, making the extermination and prevention process more manageable as nests and eggs of future pests are eliminated. However, don’t hesitate to hire a pest control specialist when you spot signs of a problem.

Most treatments take 1-3 hours, but severe infestations may require multiple visits.

When woodpeckers start banging on your walls or roof, they are probably looking for insects to eat, storing nuts for winter, drilling a hole to make a nest, or communicating with other birds to establish territory or find a mate.

The size of the hole can help determine the reason for the pecking. Small irregular holes are a result of insect hunts. Acorn holes are more consistently sized and often fitted with a nut in the middle. Nest holes are large and have rounded edges. If the bird is pecking to mark its territory or attract a mate, it may leave dents rather than holes, and the noise will stop when the mating season starts in spring.

Yes, bats can cause quite a bit of damage to the attic. Their weight and movement from flying around can damage insulation, and they can chew through wiring and the walls. As if this isn’t enough, they leave their droppings throughout, which carry harmful bacteria and is dangerous for humans to breathe in, not to mention the extremely foul-smelling odor.

When it comes to keeping birds from doing their business on your porch rails, you have several DIY options and home remedies you can try:

  • Tie a fishing line from one end of the deck post to the other. Birds won’t be able to see the line across the railing, so they can’t land on it.

  • Hang wind chimes close by, which may scare birds away.

  • Apply a bird gel repellent to the railings, which contains smells that birds generally don’t like. Or, similarly, you can apply citronella or lemon oil around the railings, since birds don’t like strong smells.
