"Matt was very creative and thoughtful about the best way to install an electrical vehicle charger when he needed to work through some obstacles in an older house. I anticipate using him for other projects around our house and am happy to recommend him for the installation of Level 2 home charging."

"First II had an EV charger installed. Nicholas was the first to be completely transparent about what it would take to do the installation properly, and on top prepare our stove outlet to induction â both major consumers of electrical power. As a followup, since our electrical panel was a complete mess, I had him install a new panel neat and properly with modern breakers. I would definitely hire him for any other electrical jobs I may have in the future. Highly recommended."

"I bought my unit from NETR in 2018. It worked fine until we discovered it wasn't blowing any cold air. I made the big mistake of hiring someone a family friend recommended and they diagnosed it incorrectly and then basically disappeared on me. Anyway, it took a few weeks but they repaired it today and I was impressed with their courtesy and getting the job done very quickly and successfully. I felt like I was being dealt with honestly. Thanks, Jared and Jack. I should mention I paid about $300 for the refrigerant today. I don't know what the final cost will be but probably a bit over $1000."

"I am a landlord and was in desperate need to have a few outlets within a rental unit serviced as they were RED flagged by city of Boston ISD for non-grounding. I called a few local electricians and none could fit me into their schedule. I remembered the Homeadvisor adds and went online searched for the services I needed and filled out form. And within 15 minutes Ray from Daly Electric, Inc. gave me a call, he identified himself and asked me what services I needed. I explained the situation and Ray gave a call back with a quote and an appointment for Monday morning within 20 minutes. Keep in mind that we first made contact on Friday morning. Ray was really convenient as I could not be on site. I left the keys to the unit and he called me when he got to the property. Ray, called me once again on inspection to confirm the work as well as alert me about polarity issues with other outlets in the unit. Ray gave me a competitive price and service I am happy with. My perception of Ray and Daly Electric, Inc. from this one instance is that they are clear in their communication and follow through which made feel I was making the right choice in hiring his services. I would say I recommend Ray from Daly Electric, Inc. and would consult and use their services again."

"Adam called me immediately and met me that same day. I hired the company and they cut my grass that same day. They used a ride on mower and my land is uneven so some areas were shorter than others. Two days later they spread 10 yards of hemlock mulch and recut some areas of my grass with push mower. They will use a push mower in the future. My yard now looks beautifully landscaped. Communication is definately key with this company. They aim to please!!"

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

No, you should never plug a generator directly into a wall outlet in your house. This practice is extremely dangerous, often illegal, and can cause "back-feeding," where power from the generator flows back into utility lines, creating a life-threatening hazard for utility workers. It can also damage your home's electrical system, including appliances like pumps and HVAC fans. If the main power is restored while the generator is connected, it can destroy the generator and cause an electrical fire. To safely connect a generator, you must use a professionally installed transfer switch or an interlocking kit, which prevents back-feeding by disconnecting your home from the utility grid before the generator provides power.

You can determine what size generator you need for a transfer switch by matching the switch to the largest outlet on your generator. Larger generators can power up to 10 circuits, while most 5,000-watt generators can provide power to six circuits. So, if your generator’s largest outlet is 30 amps, you’ll need a 30-amp transfer switch.

In some situations, yes. Never try to put biofuel into any home generator without checking the specifics first. If a generator has the ability to run on diesel, it can also run pure biofuel (the clear kind made from seed oils, for example). But if you are using biofuel made from animal fats or vegetable oils, the generator will need significant modifications before it can handle a sludgier type of biofuel.

Natural gas and electricity rates vary significantly based on location, and pricing can change over time, too. It’s possible that in locations where natural gas is particularly inexpensive, it will cost less than grid-based electricity will. However, you should also factor in the generator’s initial costs and maintenance needs, as well as its noise level and if it can comfortably power all your home appliances.

While natural gas generators are costly, they’re a great option for standby power due to the reliability of natural gas as a fuel source. Unlike other fuels, natural gas is delivered through underground pipes, making outages extremely rare and less likely to be affected by the elements. As long as the area isn’t prone to earthquakes, they offer an unlimited supply of natural gas that doesn’t degrade over time or require storage in tanks.
