"Cleverton Santana responded quickly to my request for animal control of a woodpecker that had entered my attic. He saw the bird which subsequently got out of the attic. Cleverton returned and installed screening on both attic vents."

"Remarkably well! After my initial phone conversation we set an appt. for the next day. Neil, a pest control expert arrived promptly. Listened to our concerns and proceeded to inspect every inch of the basement, including crawl space(!), each room on the 1st floor and the attic (a place that's difficult to maneuver). Checked perimeter for any points of entry. A lengthy, thorough inspection was completed to our satisfaction! Very impressed with Neil's attentiveness, professionalism and honesty. Highly recommend Cape Cod Pest Pros. Will definitely call on them with any future problems."

"Trap All did an incredible job with removing the raccoons using save humane methods to trap and release the little critters and their pups from my attic. I would also add at a very affordable price. They even put me in touch with a company to come in and clean up the mess the raccoons had made during their tenancy in my attic. I plan of having a site visit in the fall to inspect possible point of entry before winter comes. I highly recommend this company. 5⭐️"

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

Maintain sealed entry points, use deterrents like spikes or sonic devices, and keep areas clean to discourage nesting.

Small amounts of geese are actually good for the environment. They help spread seeds and lead to more plant growth, but they’re often an invasive species, particularly Canadian geese. This means a small gaggle can quickly grow into a level that litters your lawn with bald patches and excrement.

Using audio and visual methods to discourage birds might work initially, but birds tend to acclimate to them over time. While chemical deterrents can show some effectiveness, their results can be inconsistent. Some may dissipate too quickly, and there's a risk they might cause unintended damage to your surroundings. Additionally, birds might become immune or resistant to the impact of such treatments.

Certain strong smells may help repel bats, though this is not a foolproof method and is best used in conjunction with other deterrence strategies. Scents like peppermint oil, eucalyptus, cinnamon, cloves, and mint are often suggested as natural remedies. To create a spray, you can mix two cups of warm water with half a cup of sugar and a few drops of your preferred essential oil. Apply this mixture using a spray bottle to possible entry points and throughout the affected area, such as an attic. While this home remedy is popular, evidence supporting its effectiveness is limited.

Once the animals and their young are out of the house, remove the nest and locate any entry points. Some may be difficult to find because some animals can fit through very small holes. Once you’ve located as many entry points as possible, use materials such as metal or masonry to block off the entry. Ideally, you should choose materials that most animals cannot chew through. Create a one-way door or flap to allow animals to leave but not return. Additional methods include using repellants designed to make an area unappealing to the types of animals that find your home so inviting.
