"This past winter, we moved into a house that had a newly finished basement. However, we soon discovered it would occasionally flood. (Yes, we got money from the sellers.) We had a french drain installed, a new sump pump with three pumps, and a dehumidifier. The worst part of the process was waiting for the appointment. It booked out like 3-4 weeks!
