"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

"The AC unit quit on Friday night. I left them a message on Saturday. AirMedic called first thing Monday morning and arrived at 8:45AM. He had the needed part on the truck and had the AC up and running in less than an hour. We were so pleased, we had him service both units. The total cost was less than I thought it would be. I would not use anyone but AirMedic in the future."

Family owned and operated, Montgomery Heating and Air Conditioning, has been serving the HVAC needs of Livingston Parish and beyond since 1956. We opened our doors in 1956 as a one-man operation. Mr. Bruce Montgomery gave the company his name as well as the high standard of customer service expected from such a close community service provider. The company, its customers and its service area have all grown quite a bit since then. Today, Donny Gee and his family have proudly kept Montgomery’s name as well as its one-of-a-kind customer service alive as they’ve extended service to East and West Baton Rouge, Ascention, Assumption, East and West Feliciana, St. Helena, St. James, St. John the Baptist and Tangipahoa Parishes. We have several skilled and trained technicians and installers that are able to meet your comfort needs every day of the year.

"This is a great group! They come twice a year for maintenance. Patrick is my usual serviceman and he’s professional, efficient and kind. I ask lots of questions and he always takes the time to explain things. Shawn has also come several times and he is wonderful too! I am very happy with this company and will continue to use them and recommend them to others."

We’re All About YOU, The Customer. In 1980, Home360 was started as a division of the old Perkins Road Hardware store located near the LSU Campus and the Garden District. Everything the Home360 franchise organization does is laser focused on making your experience with us the most positive experience it can be. Whether it is our convenient & prompt firm-time appointments; our highly experienced, courteous & neat franchised craftsmen (Franchise Owners); or our dedication to craftsmanship & high quality standards, Home360 is committed to making you a customer for life. That is why over 135,000 Baton Rouge area customers have repeatedly used our services and referred us to others more than 76% of the time! No other home remodeling, renovation and repair organization can compete with us when it comes to serving you. Our philosophy is simple; deliver friendly, on-time, professional, guaranteed services along with affordable prices. We want to exceed your expectations on every job. Our customer satisfaction philosophy has delivered us the Super Service Awards with Angie's List every year since 2009.

"I had Tim Albert at the house today for a stove problem. He fixed the problem quickly and to my satisfaction. We have used Tim before and always found him professional and honest. We request him by name when we have an appliance issue."

2008 years of experience

Appliancezone.com is a leading on-line retailer of appliance parts and accessories for do-it-yourself homeowners. Incorporated in 2008, it was started by CEO, Jim Allen and his wife Paula, who operated an appliance repair business for nearly fourteen years prior to starting the internet company Appliance Zone.

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

While personal preferences widely vary, sleep experts say the best temperature for sleeping is between 60 and 67 degrees Fahrenheit rather than 78. If you do choose to sleep with your AC unit tuned to 78 degrees, you might want to use only a sheet or light blanket rather than a comforter. You might also consider installing a window unit in your bedroom so that you can be cooler in bed without wasting energy cooling the whole house.

Both evaporator coils and condenser coils are recyclable and contain valuable, sellable metals such as copper and aluminum. Not only is it more earth-friendly to take them to a local metal recycling facility, but you can also trade them in for cash. Also, once the coils are removed from the system, they won’t have any traces of refrigerant, so you won’t have to arrange for recycling Freon or R-410A unless you’re disposing of the entire AC system.

Your air conditioner can temporarily run with a dirty filter, but it won’t work as efficiently. It will need to work harder to blow cool air throughout the room or house, and this can eventually cause the air conditioner to overheat or die prematurely. It’s much more cost-effective to clean or replace filters than to pay higher utility bills each month and replace the entire AC unit more often.

An AC compressor is one of the most expensive parts to replace on an AC unit if it breaks. You’ll pay up to $2,300 if you need a new one. If your AC is blowing warm air, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of air coming out of the ducts at all, or the unit cycles on and off a lot, you may have a broken compressor. Call a pro to check out your system.

Yes, you can potentially save $60 to $200 by handling your own air conditioner capacitor installation. However, capacitor replacement comes with the risk of electric shock. Only attempt this if you have the knowledge and protective gear to carry it out safely. Otherwise, we recommend hiring an HVAC pro with the experience to properly diagnose the issue and avoid damaging other parts of your AC unit.
