This type of lubricant also lasts a long time and works well in extreme cold and heat, making it ideal for garage doors. Other products you can use include lithium grease and silicone spray. Avoid using heavy, oil-based lubricants, as they can promote debris getting caught up in your garage door tracks.

A garage door should last 30 years, give or take, before it needs replacing, so your panels should last for around that long as well. However, you should replace your garage door panels sooner if the door doesn’t function smoothly if one of the panels gets visibly damaged, or if an issue with a panel is creating a security issue.

There should not be any visible gaps between the garage door and frame. If the gap is big enough that you can either see daylight or feel a draft, this indicates a problem.
