"Aireserv Shreveport is an amazing company. They are very prompt to address any issues and find solutions that work for you. The owners are so friendly and make you feel like you are their only customer. We use them exclusively for all our HVAC needs for repair work that has been done to our unit and even to install an additional air intake, which tremendously aided in cooling our house in the areas further-est from the original intake. This was a solution they provided to answer our problem of half our house being hot/cold depending on the season. We cannot get over the difference it makes. They are extremely professional & on time - they send you text and email alerts when the technician is on the way and the technician also calls to say he is on the way. Best HVAC company ever!"

"Bobby L. Greene Plumbing, Heating And Cooling is a family business that began in Shreveport well over 60 years ago. Bobby and his wife, Doris, began working out of their home with an old typewriter, a card table, and one truck. \n \nPublic demand allowed him to grow and today the family business includes a number of family members, several employees, and vehicles. \n \nAbout Bobby L. Greene Plumbing & Heating Co. \n \nSeveral years ago, Ricky took over the everyday operation of the company for his father. Both of Ricky’s sons, Justin and Michael, have earned their Master’s Plumbers Licenses and share daily responsibilities along with their Dad. Like the rest of the Greene family, Justin and Michael have worked since they were 8 years old learning the business from the ground up."

Heating and Air Conditioning FAQs, answered by experts

Yes, a dirty air filter can cause a higher electric bill. That’s because clogged filters make it harder for air to flow through your HVAC system, which forces it to work harder and use more energy. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, replacing dirty filters can save you between 5% and 15% in utility costs.

If your home has an existing forced-air heat system, you can add a central air conditioner to it. An HVAC technician can retrofit your forced-air heating system by installing an evaporator coil onto the furnace plenum, the box next to the furnace that draws in air. Once installed, the air conditioning coils use the furnace’s blower to circulate the air.

It’s never a good idea to run your AC without a filter, even just for a night. The filter defends your HVAC system from the dust, dirt, debris, and other grime in your home. Without a filter, those contaminants are more likely to get inside your system and potentially damage it.

You can protect your air conditioner in the winter by turning off the power at the thermostat and performing routine HVAC maintenance in the spring. Regular maintenance, cleaning, and repair of your AC unit helps protect it and extend its life span. If you have a window AC unit, remove it from the window and store it in a dry place during the winter. Window units cannot withstand freezing temperatures. Keeping them in your window also allows cold air to seep into your home.

No, it's not advisable to only replace the outside AC unit connected to your system. AC units are designed to work as a cohesive system, and older units work differently than newer units. Therefore, replacing only one component can lead to incompatibilities that affect the system’s performance. Replacing one component can void your warranty, costing you money for repairs.
