"Attempted the job but did not complete it, once it got dark outside it was clear they werent going to finish, yet still charged full price. Atleast offer to knock the price down if you didnt complete the job! Hired to assemble a 10'x17' trampoline. Wasnt able to figure out 1 of the 4 legs, so they continued on with assembling without getting that 1 leg assembled.. which then led to us having to undo 1/2 of the job we paid full price for, because you can not just NOT assemble 1 of the legs! Its the foundation of the whole thing! Most frustrating part of that was realizing within 2 mins what the issue was! They had 2 of the legs in the wrong place and 1 was also backwards. Should have been done correctly & the assembly instructions followed by these pros and we could have avoided having to basically do the job ourselves! We would have still had to undo 1/4 of it anyway, because the netting and poles were also assembled incorrectly. Basically, paid $300 to just do this job ourselves!"

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Pool leaks most commonly occur at joints or where different materials meet. The most frequent leak spots include:

  • The Pool Skimmer: Where the plastic skimmer meets the pool's liner or shell.

  • The Pool Liner: Tears can develop in vinyl liners, especially those between 5 and 20 years old. Leaks also occur around the liner's edge.

  • Fittings and Accessories: Areas around return lines, the main drain, and pool lights are common culprits.

  • Pool Equipment: The pump, filter, and filter housing can also leak.

While leaks in underground pipes are less common, they can be costly to fix. It's usually best to check the more common spots before investigating the plumbing system.

Whether your homeowners insurance covers a pool leak depends on your specific policy, so it's essential to check your policy documents before taking on any repairs. Typically, leaks caused by a covered event, such as a fallen tree branch or a fire, may be covered. However, leaks resulting from general wear and tear or poor maintenance are usually not. It is also a good practice to review your homeowners insurance policy before installing a pool to fully understand your personal liability and coverage.

You can use a plunge pool any time of the year, including winter. Be sure to install a pool heater if you plan to take a dip in the plunge pool when temperatures are low to avoid risk of hypothermia. You will also want to add a sturdy pool cover to protect the pool from snow, sleet, and rain during the winter months.

Your contractor will need several days to several weeks as far as a timeline to install your semi-inground pool goes. Adapting an aboveground pool to be semi-inground by excavating and partially burying the liner, for example, will only take three to five days, while installing an in-ground pool with a poured concrete liner and building up the land around it will require several weeks. Keep in mind that the process of hiring a pool contractor and applying for permits can add several additional weeks to the total timeline.

Pool water—or rather, the chlorine in pool water—generally doesn’t damage artificial grass. This type of grass is made from plastic fibers that are incredibly resilient. That said, you can damage artificial grass around a pool in other ways. For example, the sun’s reflection off a window or fence can melt polyethylene fibers. A temporary pool can flatten and cause an indent in turf.
