"The 2 workers who installed the drainage system should be paid well since they did the entire project in the heat using shovels. No problem there. The problem comes with lack of follow up in gutter work. A contractor was sent and an astronomical bid was given. I called Mr Mike and received no return call and am expecting none. He was to also tamp down the dirt mound and replace sod after a six week period much like another person and I haven’t heard anything and again don’t expect to. Sad."

Communicate any known electrical issues with contractors at the beginning of the project, and consider hiring an electrician to fix those. Choose quality lights that will last you many years—LED lights have been known to last as long as 100,000 hours. Second, plan ahead and purchase lights for next year’s Christmas during this year’s post-holiday sales. Finally, have a vision and a plan—if you know the measurements of your home, including any windows, doors, and outside bushes you wish to light up, you should be able to only purchase the necessary lights and not more than you need.
