"Matson Handyman did several jobs for me including wiring a screen room with several electrical plug ins and lights. He installed an accent wall in my master bedroom and light fixtures in my master bath. He also installed wood planks as wainscoting throughout my home. He installed waterproof flooring in my kitchen and bathrooms. He did backsplash tile in my kitchen and also lighting and dishwasher. I would definately recommend him to anyone"

Customers say: Quick response

"The work I got for the value was great. Other contractors wanted to charge $750 or more for this small repair I needed. These guys only charge what they think is fair for the amount and type of labor they do. I paid less than half what everyone else was going to charge me. I highly recommend them to anyone."

"I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Mr. West and Civil Lining for the outstanding service, professionalism and compassion they demonstrated while helping a dear friend of mine who is a senior citizen. Unfortunately, the first contractor took her money and abandoned the project without completing the work, leaving her in a very difficult and stressful situation. We contacted Civil Lining Contractors and were introduced to Mr. West, the project manager, and he hit the ground running! From the very beginning, he showed great professionalism, understanding and consideration for the circumstances. He obtained the necessary permits, kept us updated weekly, and worked within the limited budget she had left. He also had to deal with numerous issues left behind by the previous contractor, but he worked through those challenges with patience, determination, and a genuine commitment to getting the job done. What impressed us most was not just his workmanship, but also his willi"

Window Door Contractors FAQs, answered by experts

The average cost to repair a window is about $400, with prices typically ranging from $175 to $1,500. The final cost is influenced by several factors, including:

  • Number of Panes: Single-pane repairs average around $200, double-pane repairs range from $200 to $400, and triple-pane repairs can cost $600 to $1,100.

  • Type of Repair: Minor fixes for a track, seal, or sash are more affordable than repairs for broken glass or window frames, which are typically the most expensive.

  • Window Details: The size, type, and material of the window affect the price.

  • Accessibility: Windows on upper floors or in hard-to-reach locations may increase labor costs.

  • Other Factors: The extent of the damage, local labor rates, and the need for emergency service will also impact the total cost.

For comparison, a full window replacement can range from $175 to $1,800 or more for high-end materials or large windows like bay or bow windows.

On average, it cost $2,900 to rescreen a patio, porch, or sunroom, with homeowners paying anywhere from $800 to $5,200. The cost to rescreen a porch, patio, or sunroom enclosure depends on the size of the enclosure, the extent of the damage, and the materials used to replace existing screens.

Window screen repair costs an average of $310, with a typical range of $100 to $480. The final price depends on several factors, including the window size, accessibility, screen type, whether the frame needs replacement, and especially the screen material.

The cost of window screen materials varies widely based on durability and features:

  • Fiberglass: $35–$200

  • Aluminum: $50–$300

  • Copper: $90–$850

  • Stainless Steel: $45–$400

  • Brass: $100–$900

  • Solar: $55–$850

  • Security: $100–$1,000

  • Vinyl: $25–$120

Costs also differ by screen type. For instance, a prefabricated screen might cost only $40, moveable screens typically run $25 to $75, and retractable screens range from $300 to $900. To save money, you can choose more affordable materials like vinyl or fiberglass, opt to rescreen instead of replacing the entire frame, and have multiple screens repaired at once to reduce labor costs.

Most windows last for 15 to 30 years, depending on the frame material and the glass quality, but most will require repairs during that time. Windows gradually lose efficiency, so it’s usually best to have a window repair technician inspect and service your windows every five to 10 years. You should also repair your windows if you experience the following:

  • Leaks

  • Drafts

  • Difficulty opening or closing

  • Sudden increases in heating and cooling bills

  • Outdoor noise becomes more audible

  • Signs of physical damage

Solar screens are low-maintenance but benefit from occasional cleaning with mild soap and water. Avoid using harsh chemicals or pressure washing, as these can damage the mesh. Inspect screens annually for tears or loose frames to maintain performance. In dusty or coastal areas, more frequent cleaning may be necessary to prevent buildup.
