"Phillip and his team did excellent work at a reasonable price. We had damaged siding replaced and the whole 2-story house painted. More siding needed to be replaced than was initially expected, but the original estimate was honored. I did not feel like there were any corners cut, and all of the workers were very neat and respectful of the space. I would definitely work with Phillip and his team again."

"We couldn?t be happier with the custom TV unit Lawrence built for us! He designed and crafted beautiful cypress cabinets and floating shelves that completely transformed our living space. The electric fireplace adds a cozy, modern touch, and the extra hidden storage is genius?perfect for keeping things organized without clutter. Lawrence was professional, detail-oriented, and knew exactly how to bring our vision to life. The quality of his work is outstanding, and he finished everything on time. Highly recommend him for any custom carpentry project!"

"Scott made a beautiful head board for me out of an old door that I found - whenever anyone sees it they are amazed out how beautiful the piece is and how unique. Scott also made floating shelves for us. He listen to what you want and makes it happen."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Joists do distribute their load to beams, but they don’t sit on top of the beams. Instead, home builders nail or screw the joists directly to the beams such that the end of the joist butts up against the edge of the beam. Beams can sit on other beams for support, but you’ll never see a joist sitting on top of a beam or another joist.

Traditionally, bungalows are single-story homes, although having a half or partial story on top of the first floor is common. While adding a second story to a bungalow is certainly possible, the home would no longer be considered a bungalow by the strictest definition.

No rules state how much of a load-bearing wall can be removed. Rather, you need to adequately support any area that is removed. Support should always be added to as much wall area is being removed. Failing to support the area properly will result in structural damage.

A-frame homes are on the smaller side. While there’s no set square footage amount it has to be, it will usually come in around 1,000 square feet or smaller.

There are a variety of second-story deck privacy ideas depending on your budget and aesthetic. For starters, you might consider fencing or tall privacy railing that masks a good portion of the open deck. A pergola or an awning can provide additional cover and shade. Outdoor curtains are an easy way to add or remove privacy at your convenience, plus they’re a wallet-friendly way to decorate your deck.
