"All of Bob's Painting people I dealt with were excellent. Estimate, pre-paint, and painting have well done professionally.
I had two other estimates. Bob's painting was not the lowest price however; Bob (owner) presented very likable personality and professionalism when he provided me an estimate. I'm very happy and satisfied using them. My house looks like a newly build house with fresh stucco paint and front door. My drive way is remarkably clean comparing with my neighbors'. "Installers were prompt and worked efficiently. New installer needed a bit more professional training, since he asked if he could smoke an e-cigarette inside. When I said "no", he was polite and smoked outside. At least he asked. Installers looked a bit "rough" but they wore company shirts and did a good job. My only problem with this company was that their hours were inconvenient, although they made arrangements to be open when I requested.

Painting over wood paneling is an option that can save you money and time. However, if you go this route, the style and texture of the wood you paint over will still be evident. Painting over paneling is an excellent way to modernize an otherwise outdated aesthetic. Instead of removing wood panels, consider painting them a bright color–like white or ivory. This is essentially wainscoting, but without any of the required installation.

In most cases, it is not recommended to wallpaper over existing wallpaper, as the success depends on the type of paper already on the wall. While you might be able to cover non-coated wallpaper, you should never apply new wallpaper over a vinyl-coated one, which is more common. Doing so can lead to poor adhesion, resulting in bubbles, imperfections, and peeling. It can also trap moisture, potentially causing hazardous mold growth between the layers.

Even if the existing wallpaper is suitable, experts recommend applying only one new layer. Adding multiple layers (more than two total) can cause significant adhesion problems, leading to warping and bubbling. For the best results, the recommended approach is to remove the old wallpaper and all paste residue before hanging the new paper. If you are unsure about your wallpaper type, consider consulting a professional.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.
