"Scott made a beautiful head board for me out of an old door that I found - whenever anyone sees it they are amazed out how beautiful the piece is and how unique. Scott also made floating shelves for us. He listen to what you want and makes it happen."

Emergency services offered

"It was a big job, but Keith and Ann arrived early at 8:45am and completed the project at 3:45pm. They covered all areas surrounding each vent with drop cloths and worked throughout the house. The air duct cleaning unit is self contained, but they made sure to vacuum up any residual debris from removing the vents. They also washed and re-installed all vents. Keith also did a small repair on an air duct in my attic that was letting in warm air at no charge! This is the 2nd time I have used Clean Pro and they were just as courteous, prompt, and organized as ever. I would definitely recommend their services! They also provide a number of other services you can look into on their website. I plan to have our fabric sectional sofa and dining room chairs stain sealed in the future. They also clean drapes and carpet. A+ for Clean Pro!"

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

Upholstered furniture in Covington benefits from regular vacuuming to reduce dust and allergens, along with quarterly fabric protector applications. Deep clean every six months and inspect annually for mold or pests, especially in humid months. Use a dehumidifier to manage moisture, rotate furniture to prevent sun fading, and check for insect activity. Schedule professional deep cleaning every few years for lasting comfort and appearance.

Helpful?

For upholstering in Covington, keep essentials like a staple gun, fabric scissors, seam ripper, measuring tape, and upholstery needles. Due to Covington’s high humidity, have mildew-resistant fabric sprays, a dehumidifier, and moisture absorbers ready. Cedar blocks or lavender sachets help deter pests. Prepare your workspace with plastic sheeting and fans, and order specialty supplies early, especially before hurricane season, to avoid local shipping delays.

Helpful?

When planning upholstering in Covington, avoid peak hurricane season to minimize material delays and humidity-related issues. High moisture levels mean you should select mold- and UV-resistant fabrics and allow extra drying time. Indoor work is best during rainy spells. Local fabric shops can suggest climate-appropriate materials, but specialty items may need to be ordered from nearby cities, so factor in potential shipping times.

Helpful?

In Covington, homes—especially older or historic ones—often feature narrow doorways, steep staircases, and tight corners that can make moving furniture challenging. Raised foundations or original hardwood floors may require extra care to prevent damage during transport. If your furniture was assembled in the room or you have doorways under 32 inches, plan ahead for maneuvering issues and consider professional help to protect both furniture and flooring.

Helpful?

In Covington, faded, sagging, or torn fabric, pet stains, or persistent odors usually signal the need for upholstering. However, if you notice wobbly frames, broken springs, termite evidence, or water-damaged wood, structural repairs are required instead. For antiques, leather, or suspected mold issues, it’s best to consult a local professional for safe and thorough restoration tailored to Covington’s humid climate.
