we are a residential and commercial lawn care company based out of Hopkinsville. we specialize in fertilizing, weed control, pre emergent, grub control, insecticides, ornamental sprays, seeding, and lime applications , among other services. we spray five times a year on a 6-8 week schedule. we are reasonably priced, and will price match or beat any price. were licensed and insured. weve been in business now for six years but before that I worked with another company, doing the same thing, so combined 17 years experience. my wife and I act as the owners and operators. we will be the ones dong your yard.

"In Jan 2021, I paid $988 for three yard sprayings (herbicide, insecticide, fertilizer) and seeding. One spraying was performed on 30 Mar. No other services were provided. I began contacting them in Dec. Left several phone messages over several months. No response. Wrote a letter in Dec asking for refund of $884 for work not performed. To date, no response. Better Business Bureau complaint filed March 2022."

Lawn Fertilization and Treatment questions, answered by experts

At its core, soil pH is a measure of how many hydrogen ions are present in your soil. In highly acidic soil (low pH), plant growth is difficult due to reduced microbial availability in the dirt.

In highly alkaline soil, plants may struggle to grow due to iron deficiencies. In either case, a lack of balance deprives grass or plants of some key nutrients they need to grow.

A pH reading of 6 to 7.5 is ideal for most plants. Slight acidity is, generally speaking, less of an issue than slight alkalinity. Many plants can still thrive in slightly acidic soil.

If you notice your grass is growing quickly and it’s hard to keep up, cut down on how much you water and fertilize it. Another helpful method is to mow the grass at the highest setting your mower will allow. Mowing at a higher setting slows grass growth since the blades won’t need to repair themselves as quickly if they’re kept at a longer length.

Powdery mildew tends to grow mostly on leafy plants. The mold itself isn’t particularly harmful, except for those who are allergic to mold. However, you should treat it like you’d treat the discovery of any other mold, and get rid of it immediately. Powdery mildew can spread to your home, which can cause expensive damage.

Planting grass from seed requires time to grow before it can handle even light foot traffic. Most varieties require a minimum of three months before you can walk on them regularly. You can expect to wait at least one year before your lawn can hold up to heavy use. Because sod is already established, it can be walked on more quickly than grass planted from seed.

You can fertilize right after mowing as long as you've collected the clippings. If you leave grass clipping, they can form a mat that prevents the fertilizer from reaching the soil. Plus, grass clippings are rich in nitrogen, so if you leave them and then apply fertilizer, you can end up with too much nitrogen in the soil.
