Great! He recommended we not install a light switch in a small half bath because we have plaster walls and it would be a much larger project than anticipated, and offered instead to put a pull chain on our new fixture. It looks and works great! They also followed up, which I appreciated.

It was work done on the house so that the electrical system would work with a new washer and dryer that required 220 rather than 110 with the old appliances. They did fine. They came quickly, came when they said they would and seemed to know what they were talking about. Everything works now. They did a workmanlike job. The price was okay.

They were really good on scheduling and the technician was here when they said he was going to be here, on time. I don't really know of anything that they can do to improve their service.

The installation to date is satisfactory. Their inability to finish is inexcusable.
Description of Work: I did a large remodel of my house over a period of 8 months through a local general contractor. During that period I paid Corrigan approximately $45,000 on a time and material basis. Three weeks ago the general contractor completed his work and left and Corrigan was due out to complete their work. I started calling them 2-1/2 weeks ago and and could not get anyone to give me a date they would be out to finish the work. Eight calls later I finally talked to Shawn who informed me it would be next year before they could have the same crew out that has been working here. That's 3 months after the initial request. Corrigan holds the permit on the house and has several items they were in the middle of wiring up when they pulled off the last time. They have me over a barrel and don't care because I am just a homeowner and one shot deal to them. I realize everyone is busy but this is just pitiful.

Service performed was satisfactory. Did not receive a reliable estimate on repair, received no written estimates of labor cost and invoice labor cost were changed on site well after a commitment to agreeing to service. "Rough estimate" was off by 40% Due to nature of job I agreed to time and material. 2-3 hour verbal estimate for service after their site visit, extended to over 6 in actual service time. Both technicians said this was their first experience doing this type of job. Scheduled service days in advance and was taken off priority list and moved to second call of the day. That meant I could not be present at end of service as it went from 10 a.m. until after 5 pm . Technician indicated at call that it would be COD although no discussion was made during service request or other communications, but I could not remain on site as work extended past anticipated time estimate and had been delayed. Technician said he would leave bill on sight and for me to contact office for payment. I sent check in a.m. by mail next day, but had already received call about payment. Invoice states 30 days. I called back to accounting departing, stated my above concerns in indicated payment had been sent. She forwarded to service manager who called me back and took defensive position of this was time and material job. Poor way to do business puts home owner at risk. Had to initiate call back twice to find status of scheduling service which I also thought was poor customer service.

When I called to get an appointment to have them worked on my basement bathroom. It was getting no electric. I had already replaced the circuit breaker. Instead of coming out and charging me for a call, they told me about a reset button which I did not know about. I found it and reset and everything was fine. I appreciate their help and honesty They could have easily gotten me for a service call and a little time. I am planning on having some electrical work done in the near future. They will be the ones I call to do it!

Advised on cost (had to replace breakers in the box per code- a large part of the cost and approved in advance) and did follow up, trouble shooting to find a neutral wire issue that was kicking out the new arc-fault breaker. Great job root causing an issue and utterly professional job by their representative. I moved to L'ville in 2012 and have used Angie's list to find reliable contractors. Corrigan has done multiple jobs at my house and they are excellent electrical contractors.

My initial contacts with Corrigan were pleasant and professional. I requested and received a proposal to run 2 circuits from my existing service panel; the cost seemed reasonable ($1100) and I accepted the proposal. The work was performed while we were out of town on vacation. The contractor doing the remodeling on our bathroom asked them to do some additional work while they were at it - without my knowledge. Corrigan performed the additional work without informing either the contractor or me of the cost. In fact, I wasn't consulted at all! Obviously my contractor should not have requested the additional work without consulting me first. (As it happens, I have extensive background in doing electrical work and would have performed the additional work myself.) In fairness to Corrigan, the work was well-done, but it was a fairly simple job. If given the choice, I would rather have spent a couple of days doing the work myself rather than paying them nearly $1300, but I wasn't given the opportunity. When I asked Jack Gordon why they didn't contact me - the person paying for the work - before doing the work, he said that they hadn't done anything wrong because they often have a working relationship with contractors instead of owners. This is a nonsensical statement to me as it was never communicated to me beforehand and I had certainly not agreed to this arrangement. I wound up paying Corrigan for the work because they had, indeed performed it. But I will never use them again nor will I recommend them. I think they are overpriced (nearly $100/hour) and communicate very poorly with their customers.

He was supposed to install a GFI outlet. They cut a few holes in the wall trying out figure out what to do and he still did not hang the light because he didn't know how. He was two and a half hours late.
Description of Work: We hired Corrigan to do some work for us. I was not happy with them and we are waiting to see how they resolve things. I was paying him by the hour and he was wasting time so I had to stop him. He did not clean up because I was not going to pay just to sweep my house.

It went a lot better than expected. Coordinated the work through Sean and James arrived and ready to go. He was professional and willing to do any work that he could address in the time I had...my son is graduating high school and I was working a list of projects but James was ready to go. He did all the work in about an hour and a half. The work went so well that I have asked them to come back and do some additional work and inspections on my home. Corrigan Electric was able to fit me in very quickly for the small job that I needed done. When I called, I described that I had to keep resetting the breaker and it kept tripping. Jay the lead master electrician was excellent. He went over everything and showed us what he would have to do. Jay and his crew were always prompt, right to work no wasted time, courteous, cleaned up each day after their work. They did excellent work always explaining and showing me what they were doing. They never minded answering any questions I asked. I would definitely use Corrigan again for any electrical work.
Description of Work: Upgraded existing electric to 200 amp. Had to take out wiring for new addition that a previous contractor had done that was wrong and not up to code. Than they had to rewire all of that, put in box for new addition and rewire all of that, put up 4 ceiling fans, lights, wiring for air conditioner and furnace, outside light and electrical boxes. This was a big job where a previous contractor had done it wrong and walked off the job. Corrigan came in and corrected all of this.

I REQUESTED AN ESTIMATE ON MY KITCHEN RENOVATION. APPOINTMENT WAS SET FOR 48 HOURS LATER. ESTIMATOR WAS SICK, SO MR. CORRIGAN CAME TO DO ESTIMATE. I FOUND THIS TO BE GREAT SERVICE. INSTEAD OF CANCELING ON ME, THEY MADE IT HAPPEN. SO FAR SO GOOD. WHEN I RECEIVED THE EMAIL ESTIMATE SEVERAL DAYS LATER I WAS SURPRISED THERE WAS NO LINE ITEM ESTIMATE, JUST A FULL JOB PRICE. My wife and I used Corrigan on two seperate occassions. Both times, when I called I spoke with Sean, who was pleasant and returned phone calls promptly. We were able to have an appointment scheduled within a few days on both occasions. They are a little more expensive than a few other places that I called, but I read the reviews on here and felt comfortable. On the first visit, the technician was prompt, extremely courteous and very timely. We needed several items taken care of, and he was able to complete them all, and more! He was able to install a ceiling fan (to include running electrical wiring) a new GFI and replace a GFI. While the technician was talking with my wife, he noticed two new ceiling light fixtures we had bought. I was going to install them after I got home from work, however, the technician went ahead and took care of them in a matter of minutes. He didn't charge any extra for this. If I could remember this technicians name, I would recommend him highly. He cleaned up his mess, and the areas looked as though he had never been there. He is very competent and professional, as well as being fast. With such an outstanding experience our first go-around, we decided to once again call Corrigan when we needed to replace a track lighting system and to have two wall outlets installed. The second technician was prompt and arrived at our scheduled time. The work performed took much longer than I thought it should have taken. The first technician was able to do considerable more (a new ceiling fan including running the wiring in the attic, two new outdoor GFIs and two ceiling light fixtures), in less time. This second technician was at our home for several hours. The following day, the newly installed track lighting began to flicker. I also noticed that the outlet he had installed under our kitchen sink for the garbage disposal was in a very inconvenient location. I called Corrigan to report the problems and was transferred to Sean (the same gentleman who promptly and eagerly scheduled our service both times). I left several voicemails and never heard from him. I even called one time posing as a "new" customer and could not get a returned phone call. Caller ID, maybe? I ultimately removed and then re-installed both the track lighting and the outlet under the sink. So, I pretty much paid someone to come out for nothing. Would I recommend them? I doubt it. We loved the first technician, but not the second. The promptness to return phone calls for new business, but the failure to return calls with customer issues is disturbing.
Description of Work: Installed ceiling fan(where no previous electrical wiring) , replaced two ceiling lights and one track lighting system, replaced a faulty GFI and installed a new GFI, installed two new wall outlets.
