"Absolutely would not recommend this company after our experience. Pat Coomes was sent to us by our moving company to assess damage caused to our possessions during a move. Not sure what scam they are running together, but we were very dissatisfied and stunned after seeing our claim got denied and why. Pat came into our home and for every item he inspected, he gave us suggestions on how to fix it. The smaller items this was just annoying for, but then on the big ones, we simply couldn’t believe it. He recommended we superglue our $1200 tv’s frame back together. Bet he wouldn’t be saying that if it were his and he had spent that much money only to have someone else ruin it. He was also supposed to inspect our reclining couch and instead, proceeded to get under it and try to fix it himself. That was not part of the inspection process and to make it worse, when he contacted our moving company, he told them it looked like WE had tried to fix the couch and that nothing was wrong with it. We requested a copy of the full report. If this “furniture expert” looked at the couch and tried to fix it himself on the spot, how can he say it wasn’t broken? And I couldn’t believe that he then turned around and blamed a shoddy repair job on us when he couldn’t fix it to make the problem go away. He must get paid by the moving companies to write inspections so they don’t have to pay out for expensive items they mishandle. But if that wasn’t even all bad enough, upon leaving our home, this man had to audacity to hand us his business card and invited us to call him to do the repairs he knew we needed because our items were broken, but then reported to the moving company our items were fine. Very shady and extremely disappointed that any so called “professional” is okay doing business like this. Would certainly never hire for repair services and will be disputing our denied claim due to his shockingly poor service and ethics."

Buffing and Polishing questions, answered by experts

Marble is high maintenance, like most other types of natural stone flooring. However, because it is naturally a more porous stone, there are a few added care instructions. You will need to clean it often to prevent dirt and grit from scratching the finish and surface, keep it dry, clean up spills immediately, and have it professionally sealed and refinished at least once a year to maintain the shine and water-tight surface. However, investing in maintenance is a smart move because marble floors are among the most beautiful and valuable types of flooring when properly cared for.

It is possible to buff and polish your floors yourself, but DIY floor polishing is an extremely time-consuming process that isn’t particularly enjoyable. To do the work yourself, you’ll usually need to clean your floors, get on your hands and knees to apply polish manually with a cloth, and avoid puddles and oversaturation. Hiring a professional floor polisher is usually worthwhile because they have industrial equipment that buffs and polishes in a fraction of the time and usually leaves a more even coat.

DIY is possible for small areas. Professional services provide deep cleaning and a polished finish for larger spaces.

Standing water can lead to surface discoloration if your granite countertops are improperly sealed. However, it’s possible to remove hard water stains with a baking soda paste. Take more care with acidic liquids, such as fruit juice or red wine, which can leave more permanent stains. That’s why it’s so important to reseal these surfaces regularly.

Yes, baking soda does shine marble. Sprinkle it directly on the marble and let it sit for about five minutes, then wipe it clean with a damp microfiber cloth. If you’d like to make a baking soda paste, then simply mix the baking soda with equal parts water and apply it. You can also add baking soda and dishwashing liquid to a bucket of warm water and mop a marble surface.
