"Just In Time was great to work with! Had a clear initial conversation, they came out and reviewed the job site, arrived fully prepared and did a great job blocking up a 1 car garage on my foundation footer! Would definitely recommend and hire for future masonry jobs!"

We called C.KING Foundation & Construction to fix a leaking basement wall crack. Chris King explained the procedure, provided a quote and promptly set up an appointment. Gary arrived right on schedule to do the job. He was friendly, knowledgeable, fast and efficient. Gary left the area neat and clean and provided a lifetime warranty on the repair. We were very pleased with the experience from start to finish...a job well done.

"I tried for two weeks on my own to get a masonry contractor to call me back. Work must be good because no one called. I got on Homeadvisor to see if they could help, I tried everything I could. Within an hour I had two contractors call me to see if they could look at my job . WOW I couldnâ t believe it. Both came out and gave me a price within the next two days. I decided to go with New Age Construction. I had a brick coin on the corner of my home for some reason cracked and was getting a big gap between the bricks and with winter coming I needed to get this fixed in a timely manner. Tony from New Age Construction came by and looked at this and and told me it would be no problem to get it back to normal. What had been a big problem seemed to be everyday work to him. I was always the kind that if I did not get the warn and fuzzy feeling from someone I wouldnâ t let them have my business. With New Age I got a good feeling that he was good at what he does and with the look of my brick work on my home it shows. I felt that my home, my biggest investment I ever made I wanted someone who would do a great job. I have before, during, and after pictures that Iâ m showing to everyone. Tony will tell you what he is going to do and do it. The crack that scared me was just another day at the office for him. Save your time and money, get New Age to do your work and he will satisfy you! Also he is reasonably priced, what more can you ask for, thanks Homeadvisor and New Age Constructions!"

"We had an attached screened-in porch that was sinking.Acculevel came in and detailed every aspect of the repair project and then followed thru to the most minuet detail. Excellent work and very detail oriented. Friendly and cooperative service team that completed the work. This seemed like what was going to be a complicated job, using augered jacks, concrete removal, and replacing trex floor. ...In a nutshell, they made what seemed hard..very manageableand 100% solved.Excellent service, excellant price......Terry M."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

According to the Earthquake Country Alliance—a public and private alliance in California that works to improve earthquake and tsunami readiness—reports that unreinforced masonry, such as stone, bricks, and hollow clay tiles, is more susceptible to earthquake damage. The mortar between bricks isn’t as stable as other building materials and methods.

If your old bricks are in decent condition and you have the space to store them where they’ll be protected from the elements, keeping old bricks is often worthwhile. You’d spend anywhere from $70 to a few hundred dollars to have them removed from your property, in which case you won’t be able to use them for future projects. Holding on to old bricks in good condition means you can use them later for other DIY projects, potentially saving yourself some money on disposal and new materials down the road.

No, using a power sander on brick is not recommended because the force of the sander can destroy brick's fragile outer layer. Even using sandpaper on brick is discouraged because of the damage its abrasiveness can cause.

It’s called cobblestone because it’s made of stones that are “cobbed” together. A cob is a term that refers to rounded lumps. Originally, cobblestone streets were made from pebbles and stones gathered from riverbeds that had been rounded over time by the passage of water. The term has nothing to do with a cobbler, which is the term for someone who makes and fixes shoes.

Yes, limewash on brick can accumulate dust over time. Its porous nature can attract dust particles, especially in environments with high levels of dust or dirt. Additionally, if the limewash surface is left unsealed, it may be more prone to collecting dust. Additionally, incorrectly applied limewash will generate dust. Causes include applying it too thickly instead of thin layers and not allowing enough drying time between layers. Regular maintenance, such as gentle cleaning or dusting, can help mitigate dusty issues.
