"Greg was awesome and I will hire him again. He deserves only the highest possible ratings across the board and on top of that his attention to details was outstanding, he was super respective of us and our house and worked long days to get the job completed quickly. Certainly one of the top contractors I have ever worked with - we're fixing up an 82 year-old house and certainly he's the best tiler ever. I'm a perfectionist, the bathroom is in a dormer, the house is over 80 years old so nothing is square, and the ceiling slants to the roof line - Greg made a dark room look bright and contemporary and with awesome precision."

"Jim does great work! He showed up when he said he would, on time and the work was quality craftsmanship. You can tell he has been doing it a long time. He was professional. He did such great work with my kitchen backsplash, that I asked about the bathroom tile and he was able to do that as well. Very impressed with his work and the price was very reasonable! Highly recommend."

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

No, you should not put a hot pan or pot directly on a quartz countertop. While quartz is generally heat-resistant, the resin binders used in its manufacturing are sensitive to extreme heat. Placing a hot pan on the surface can damage the resin, leading to discoloration or other cosmetic issues. If the heat exceeds 150 degrees Fahrenheit, it can cause permanent damage, such as burns or even cracking. To protect your countertop, always use trivets or hot pads.

Yes, quartzite is heat-resistant, so you can put hot pots and pans on top without risking damage.

Use a pH-balanced cleaner, avoid abrasive materials, and reseal porous stones like granite annually to maintain durability.

Rubbing alcohol won’t damage most countertops, and you can mix it with water to create a disinfecting spray to keep your kitchen clean. It’s safer than using bleach on countertops, which can stain and cause discoloration. Be careful with rubbing alcohol when it comes to lacquered or varnished surfaces, though.

Yes, a granite countertop can be cut in place. However, learning how to cut a granite countertop in place is a lot trickier than cutting granite in an open, well-ventilated space. You’ll also need to protect everything in the surrounding area (like your kitchen cabinets and appliances), but even that might not be enough to prevent dust from getting stuck in tight spots. If you absolutely must cut a granite countertop in place, consider hiring a pro to get the job done in the cleanest and safest way possible.
