"Huge shout out to Double M Groundwork! 👏 They recently cleared land in our backyard, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. They removed the trees all the way down to the roots, so we weren’t left with a yard full of stumps, gave us an incredible view of our pond again, spread everything out evenly, and left the property looking fantastic. They showed up when they said they would, worked efficiently, and got the job done right. It’s always a pleasure supporting a local business that takes pride in their work. If you’re looking for land clearing or excavation work, I highly recommend giving Double M Groundwork a call! Double M Groundworks LLC"

"The planters I ordered are beautiful and well built. I purchased the smaller than 5 gallon bucket planters for my ferns for the front porch. I was having trouble with the wind blowing the plants over and the planters gave them some stability as well as beauty. I was able to put the pots the ferns came in right in the planter without replanting anything. Quick and easy! Thank you for a job well done!"

"Mr. Thompson explained his services well and went above and beyond by treating the land for the thorny locust trees before brush hogging the land. The land turned out better than expected! He was respectful and charged a fair price. I highly recommend Thompson Land Clearing!"

Excavating questions, answered by experts

A joint utility trench, or joint trench, is a long, buried ditch on a property that contains two or more utility lines rather than running the lines in multiple trenches. Some utilities, like gas and electric or electric and communication lines, are better suited to joint trenching, while others, like water and sewer, are not allowed to be in the same trench.

The cost to repair a crawl space runs between $1,500 and $15,000, depending on the extent of the damage. Major flooding or water repairs can cost up to $10,000 for removal and repairs. If you simply need to clean your crawl space, expect to pay between $2,000 and $6,000 for a major cleanout. Replacing a crawl space beam due to rot or damage can cost between $1,500 and $5,000, while removing and replacing damaged insulation costs between $1,000 and $4,000.

There are several different factors that influence how long it takes to excavate. For a foundation, it could take anywhere from three days to three weeks. It can take even longer if you face weather-related delays or an inaccessible site that’s riddled with boulders and rough terrain. It may also take longer if you have clay soil, which is more difficult to dig.

No, you typically cannot use metal detectors to find your sewer line. Most sewer lines are made of non-metallic materials such as PVC, clay, or cast iron, which are not detectable by standard metal detectors. Metal detectors are designed to locate metallic objects, so they won't be effective for identifying the path of a non-metallic sewer line. To locate your sewer line accurately, it's best to use other methods.

You should dig 3 to 6 inches deep for plastic edging. Dig as wide as you need to fit your plastic edging into it—2 inches is usually sufficient.
