In my case they noticed we had a dehumidifier and a year later they ripped my wife off and sold her an over $2000 dehumidifier, and when I asked her to send it back they refused to take it back and now we're stuck with it so it seems, absolutely disgusting way of working."

Yes, drain stoppers do come out. In some cases, you can twist them counterclockwise to remove them. You can lift some drain stoppers halfway to the raised position and unscrew them. You also have some recourse if a certified plumber makes a mistake, as you can report them to the certifying authority.
