"The Tech came out and due to the parts shortage he was not able to replace the front panel so Choice warranty gave me a voucher to replace it. I'm very pleased with their services. All I paid was the service fee."

"They have been very helpful. The refrigerator we had, had a control panel that they could not replace, so they gave us options and we were able to get a new refrigerator. They have saved us a lot of money over the year. They probably saved us $5000 on an AC issue. They are very prompt at responding and have been very professional."
"The salesman was very aggressive and sadly I succumbed. Signed the contract, and then they informed me my choice of countertop was not available. I selected another and after a while they told me I couldn't have that one either. So I went with my third choice and haven't been really happy with it since. In the process of installing the dishwasher the electrician informed me the panel did not have enough capacity & I would need a whole new electrical panel (about $2500 additional), something the salesman should have told me when he did the quote. The cabinets were a great improvement over the previous ones, but the finish work was mediocre (no baseboards, no switchplates, rough walls) and I had to hire another handyman to complete the kitchen. It is obvious that Sears hires construction people who can't make it on their own and who don't really care about doing a good job."
The average homeowner needs around 22 solar panels, but the exact number depends on your monthly energy consumption. Your solar professional should size your array to offset your consumption, meaning you’ll need fewer panels if you use below-average amounts of electricity, or more than 22 if you use above-average amounts of electricity. The number of panels also depends on the output of each panel. The average is around 400 watts, but you might need more panels if you install less capable equipment. Since there are so many variables, you should have a professional size your system.
Solar water heating systems are not one-size-fits-all. You'll likely work with a team of experts to get the job done—including solar panel installers, plumbers, and water heater installers. A specialist will help you decide if a passive or active system is best for your local weather, home layout, roof stability, and your budget.
Insurance companies aren’t against solar panels, but they may have concerns about the risks and costs of insuring solar. The type of policy, where you live, and the insurance company itself matter. Extreme weather can damage solar panels, and faulty installation or electrical malfunctions pose a fire risk—this, in turn, can increase insurance company liability and payouts. However, you’re likely to keep coverage as long as you have a pro install the solar system, keep it maintained, can pass a solar panel inspection, and update your homeowners policy to include solar.
Homeowners replace their solar panels after 25 years. That said, you don’t necessarily need to replace them at the 25-year mark. You’ll notice a declining ability to produce electricity over time. Most homeowners spring for a replacement when they notice their energy bills creeping up to regular levels or when solar panel repairs are extensive, frequent, and no longer economical.
Solar shingles typically last between 20 and 30 years, a lifespan comparable to that of traditional solar panels and standard asphalt shingles. The exact duration depends on the manufacturer and the quality of the installation. Because solar shingles are a newer technology, there is limited data on their actual long-term performance. Factors that can impact their durability and longevity include weather conditions, roof ventilation, and regular maintenance. To extend the life of your solar shingles, you should conduct regular inspections and cleaning, and make any necessary repairs as quickly as possible.
