"BUYER BEWARE a 1-star rating is too good. In short, this guy is a real piece of work. Don't be deceived by his quiet demeanor and his statement that he personally follows through with all his jobs from start to finish. Had a portion of my entrance and exit lane that needed to be fixed. His project quote $12,000.00. Gave Him 1/2 down of which I figured he spent $3,000.00 of it on the job and I'm being generous with that. With the 1/2 down deposit had a company come out and remove roughly 1,500 square feet of concrete he personally spent a half day saw cutting and then was history. Promise after promise unfulfilled no shows and lies the icing on the cake is when he came 3 hours late to pump water out of the hole, he created in a brand new bright green gym outfit with brand new white tennis shoes. I knew where my down payment money went. AFTER DOING SOME DEEPER DIGGING I FOUND HE DONE THIS SIMILIAR TYPE OF THING IN THE PAST. Wish I would have dug further before hiring this guy paid roughly $3,000.00 to learn this lesson. Needless to say, he never showed up to finish the job. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Anthony M"

Yes—as long as the area has been properly prepped. Different self-leveling brands and compounds have their own specific instructions for preparation; some may require that you add primer or grind the surface. Without proper preparation of the surface, the compound will not be able to fully bond to the concrete and fill the cure as a separate layer, which makes it prone to chipping.

Concrete can crack from general wear, improper installation, or in response to uneven support from the soil underneath. Small, thin cracks on the surface of aging concrete are often a result of normal wear and tear, while cracks on new concrete likely indicate a problem with installation. Penetrating sealer seeps into concrete pores to protect it from moisture and staining, cracking, and mold caused by water. This means you cannot remove penetrating sealers like topical sealers. The good news is that penetrating sealant doesn’t have to be removed before resealing, as most topical sealers must. Instead, you’ll want to buy a compatible penetrating sealant (often the same kind already in the concrete) and apply it. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

It’s best to avoid rain on freshly poured concrete for 48 to 72 hours for the best results, but you’ll see minimal losses of strength as long as your concrete remains dry for five hours after pouring. You can either wait for dry conditions to pour your concrete or cover the area with a tarp to help keep it dry.
