Description of Work: Appraisal/consultation re: my mother-in-law's antiques. Scott helped me determine what items had greater value, and provided names of auction houses & antique dealers.

Description of Work: I contacted Mr. Keller about appraising a family heirloom (a victorian marble top desk) that was broken by movers. I have attached the correspondence below. However, I felt he did not take me serously at all. Please read from the bottom to the top and remember he never saw the desk...  + -1 moreI cannot verify the accuracy of his appraisals. If I could have, I wouldn't have needed him! However, he was very personable and very professional. Many of his appraisals were in the range we expected them to be in, but some turned out to be much more valuable than we thought. We adjusted our insurance policy accordingly. We're very glad we use him and would use him again.
Description of Work: Appraised a number of items including an oil painting, two glass bowls, some Indian pottery, and some wood carvings.

 + -1 moreThe entire process went extremely well. Scott arrived on time and spent time going through the house, taking notes and photos. Within a week, he brought me 2 copies of a booklet and a CD with very thorough descriptions of each of the items and spent time explaining the contents to me. I also had him give me a estimated value of most of the furniture in the house as we walked through it. These estimates were not for insurance purposes but rather to provide my children information about the value of the house's contents. He also recommended that I take photos throughout the house of all my belongings and that I put the photos on a CD for storage in my safe deposit box. Even though it cost a fair amount of money I was very pleased with the process and I can now schedule these items on my homeowners policy and my children can be more informed.
Description of Work: Scott did appraisals on furniture, silver, china and art for purposes of insurance.

Description of Work: Gave apprasials on numerous items. Written reports, pictures, plus a CD were provided and very professionally done. Previous reports from other apprasiers were nowhere as complete as the ones provided by Mr. Kellar. You knew up front what the charges would be and he was right on. He charges by the time and pages of the report. He was well versed on the diversity of the items I had appraised. He handled them with caution and respect. I would definitely use him again and recommend him to others. When he delivered the reports (two copies), he took the time to explain everything in them.

Description of Work: We had 200 photos of antique and heirloom items we lost in the 2008 flood. They reviewed the photos and had a complete appraisal done within 10 days. They returned 2 complete reports - one to be filed with our taxes - plus a CD of the pictures. They called and asked for more detail on several pictures - I spoke to them twice.

They were on time and friendly though. The only reason that we would not use them again is because of their lack of experience in handling these items.
