Description of Work: I had blinds installed and the installer placed the blinds too far over and now the pantry door want open wide enough. Instead of fixing the problem the installer had me to remove the top part of the blinds.

Description of Work: I bought a washer and dryer on July 1, 2012 which was delivered as a white washer and a gray dryer. I had them install the dryer and re-order the washer which was an additional 5 day wait. When they installed the dryer they installed the dryer vent backwards and crushed it. They also used an unnecessary coupling that caused the dryer not to fit in the closet. Needless to say I re-installed the dryer appropriately myself. When the next delivery of the washer was attempted the washer had severe damage to both sides. The delivery guys said it most likely was due to a forklift crushing it on either side. I was told the washer was now on back order for 2 weeks. I asked for either an upgrade or significant discount. The assistant store manager (Ken) offered the floor model but said would not apply ANY discount because he did not see a reason why. I am returning the dryer and getting a refund for all. I will never order anything from Home Depot as I have been told by many people they have had very similar experiences with installs of kitchen counter tops, dishwashers etc.

Description of Work: I purchased a new Toro Lawn Mower I think in April. It was a push mower, self-propelled, electric start, nice, nice mower! However, after only using about 3 months the self-propel started acting up and I got it in the back of my car, receipt in hand and headed down there not knowing if I was going to get a "hassle" or not! Not only that but I had just filled the gas tank up and that was when the gas was right at $4.00 a gallon! At any rate I took it back, showed them the receipt, explained my problem and they, without one question asked exchanged it for a brand new mower and gave me a $7.00 credit for the gas to boot! How's that for good customer relations?

+ -1 moreAs an investor, I often use Home Depot for their carpet installation service. Their price is good, their financing is good, their product quality and installers are excellent. The one recurring problem I have is that they never meet their time deadlines. All through their flooring department they have signs that say "3-day installation." This is just not true. I always order in-stock carpet and it usually takes 2- 3 weeks. My most recent job took 19 days from the date I ordered the measurement until the date it was intsalled (and that was with me calling them everyday to move them along). The people at the store are friendly, but somewhere between the salespeople, the measure company, and the installers, there is a major problem. Overall, I would recommend them if you aren't concerned about time. The work really is great. But if you want the work to be done quickly, I would recommend that you look elsewhere.

+ -1 moreAFTER ORDERING CORIAN COUNTERTOP, SALESPERSON FORGOT TO DO SOMETHING IN THE COMPUTER SO THE CONTRACTORS WHO PERFORMED THE SERVICE WAS DELAYED BY A WEEK. HOME DEPOT DID NOT KNOW IT HAPPENED UNTIL I CALLED TO FIND WHAT WAS GOING ON. H.D. REP. DID NOT TELL ME I HAD TO REMOVE THE OLD COUNTERTOP. IF I DID NOT HAVE A BROTHER WHO KNEW HOW TO DO THE JOB THIS WOULD HAVE CAUSED ME DISTRESS. IN THE FUTURE FOR SOMETHING OF THIS NATURE I WOULD GO TO A CABINET MAKER OR KITCHEN STORE.
Description of Work: WORK COMPLETED SATISFACTORY BY CONTRACTOR TO H.D., EXCEPT THE INSTALLERS DID NOT CAULK BETWEEN BACK SPLASH AND WALL. THEY TOLD ME TO DO IT.

WHEN WE STRESSED THE JOB MUST BE COMPLETED A WEEK BEFORE THANKSGIVING, AS WE WERE HAVING GUESTS, THEY LAUGHED AND SAID THE JOB WOULD BE COMPLETED WITHIN 3-4 WEEKS. FOR 10 DAYS (INCLUDING THE 4-DAY THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY WEEKEND!!), WE HAD NO COUNTERTOPS, SINK, DISPOSAL OR DISHWASHER. WE WERE REQUIRED TO 'FIGHT' WITH HOME DEPOT EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. MEASUREMENTS WERE TAKEN 3 TIMES, PHONE CALLS WERE NOT RETURNED, FAXES WERE NOT ANSWERED, THE INSTALLERS SUBCONTRACTED BY HOME DEPOT FAILED TO SHOW OR CALL TO SAY THEY WOULDN'T BE SHOWING ON TWO OCCASIONS, AND WHEN THEY DID SHOW, NOT ONLY DID THEY FAIL TO INSTALL THE COUNTERTOP PROPERLY, REQUIRING A RE-INSTALLATION, THEY DAMAGED OUR FLOOR. FROM START TO FINISH, THE 3-4 WEEK JOB TOOK 5 MONTHS AND RUINED A HOLIDAY WEEKEND WITH GUESTS. ON 02/11/04, (AFTER INITIALLY OFFERING US A $100.00 HOME DEPOT GIFT CARD), WE WERE GIVEN A SUBSTANTIAL REFUND. STILL, WE WON'T DO BUSINESS WITH HOME DEPOT AGAIN.
