I am a Full Line Chimney Sweep. Been in business since 1981 and have a PHD in Chimenology. I have a Chimbulance which carries a full line of gas line, and chimney products. Can thread black pipe up to 2" right out of my Chimbulance. I do not sub contract. When you call, you are talking to the boss, owner and work force. I take pride in any work which I preform and I will even sweep your floors which I crossed to get to your fireplace. I do not do windows. LOL. I treat my customer the way I want to be treated. No BULL here, just straight answers. I honestly feel you will not find a better Sweep!! If you are looking for Chimney work or Gas line fixing or installing, call the man that wears the Black Top Hat!! Yes I do wear the Top Hat.

Chimney Sweep questions, answered by experts

Complete house winterization goes above and beyond the list we created above. In addition to everything listed, full house winterization also includes:

  • Performing a home energy audit.

  • Preparing your deck and patio for winter.

  • Learning how to start a snowblower.

  • Replacing smoke detector batteries.

  • Installing outlet gaskets.

  • Installing storm doors.

Preserve longevity by promptly addressing minor issues, cleaning gutters, removing nearby branches, and scheduling professional inspections regularly.

There are several ways to remove snow from your roof: using a snow rake, salting the roof with calcium chloride, using a rope (cautiously), and using heating cables. It’s important to mention that pretty, fluffy, sparkling snow weighs a great deal, and when physically removing snow from a roof, you should be aware of large snow slabs breaking off. These can weigh hundreds of pounds and are a real danger, so be extremely careful anytime you’re doing this type of work.

You should not clean roof shingles if the roof has damage like missing shingles or low spots where water may accumulate. You should focus on repairing the roof before any cleaning process occurs. If you notice roof damage as you’re climbing on the roof to clean it, stop immediately. Call a roofing pro to make repairs. Cleaning a roof that has damage could lead to pooling water or water damage to the roof decking. The roof cleaning process removes mold and mildew, making the roof look better. It is not going to fix physical damage, though.

The best time of year for roof cleaning depends on the climate in your area, but in most cases late spring or early summer are the best times. You should plan to clean your roof when it’s dry and not too hot or cold. It’s also a good idea to clean your roof in the late autumn to remove any built-up debris like leaves or branches. On the other hand, you shouldn’t clean your roof when it’s too cold, because you can cause ice buildup.
