Who better to know what you’ll need to do a project than someone who does them! In 1979, George Elliott was a homebuilder who wanted better quality materials, so he began to stock his own products for his growing business. Soon, colleagues saw what George had in his own personal inventory and started to ask if they could buy from him. Eventually, that evolved into a retail lumber business, serving not only the needs of local contractors, but the community. In 1998, we joined True Value, which gave us greater access to a bigger inventory of products at more competitive prices. Today, WoodMart thrives because of the quality philosophy started by George … if you’re gonna do it, do it right, with the right materials. We keep an eye on the industry and a close ear to what our customers ask for. Our excellent team of building professionals and kitchen and bath designers all have experience and passion and simply love what they do. That means unsurpassed personal service you won`t get at those large chain stores. At WoodMart: • We work with contractors and do-it-yourselfers. • We promise personal service from experienced professionals. • You’ll have access to the latest products and a huge inventory. • You won’t pay more … ever!

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, your kitchen flooring should extend under your dishwasher. It is essential for creating a level and stable surface for the appliance and preventing moisture from seeping into the subflooring, which is costly to repair. Working with a kitchen contractor will ensure the new flooring accounts for the height of the dishwasher so it sits under the countertop properly without any glaring gaps.

If you’re doing a full bathroom remodel, the flooring will go in before the vanity and any other bathroom cabinetry. This will ensure that the same floor is present across your whole bathroom should you ever tear out your vanity and start again.

If you can only budget for one or the other, you can still replace just the vanity in your bathroom. Just keep in mind that if you decide to replace your flooring later, you’ll need to tear out the vanity to avoid having mismatched floors.

These are two different questions. The most budget-friendly flooring option for a bathroom is waterproof luxury vinyl, but installing vinyl flooring is a fairly extensive DIY project best left to homeowners with a lot of confidence and experience. When you hire your local flooring company to do the hard work for you, you can focus on simply figuring out which type of floor will work best for your needs and stylistic preferences.

Yes, there are plenty of ways to lay stair carpet without grippers, such as carpet adhesive, magnetic flooring, or staples. Adhesive may be your best bet if you don’t want grippers, as it will most likely stick the best and cause the least amount of damage. However, if you’re looking for an easy fix, grippers are one of the best solutions you can purchase.

The cost to put wooden flooring in an attic can run a wide range. Carpeting can cost as little as $1 per square foot, or even less if you opt for unfinished flooring types like rubber or painted plywood. On the high end, hardwood floors might cost as much as $45 dollars per square foot. For a previously unused space, you’ll probably need to add a subfloor which usually costs about $5 per square foot.
