"I recently had pleasure of working with 2nd Street painting for an exterior pain job, and I could not be happier with my decision. After receiving several cuts from different companies, I chose 2nd Street painting, largely due to needs thoroughness and evident passion for his graft. From the start, he demonstrated deep knowledge of exterior painting and provided valuable insight that reinsured me that I was in good hands. The team, consisting of Claritin and Josh, took the project to an entirely new level. There are attention to detail ensure that the final result was not only fabulous but also flawless. One challenge week based was then need to replace several would in both on my home. While this task took Josh longer than initially anticipated, I was impressed by the professionalism and courtesy displayed by both Clayton and Josh throughout the process. The honor the retinal code without adding any unexpected charges, which is a testament to their integrity and commitment"

Customers say: True professional

"Mark and Matthew did an outstanding job replacing a laminate floor, painting several rooms and installing a kitchen backsplash. They were very professional, easy to work with and positively responsive to any questions my wife and I had. I highly recommend them to anyone."

"In my 30+ years of being a homeowner, I've hired 6-8 different painters. Now Premier Painting Group will be the only painter I hire. Cesar's crew is amazing. They are very meticulous and careful. Covered all my furniture and cabinets with either cloth or plastic. Covered the hardwood floors as well. They go above and beyond every time and their prices are excellent. They recently finished my 3 job with them and I couldn't be happier with the results. Wish I could give them 10 stars!!!"

Painting questions, answered by experts

A dry lawn is easier to edge than a wet one. When your ground is wet, your blades will likely clump together, making a seemingly even cut while wet, but an uneven disaster when dried. Also, a wet lawn can impact your blade's performance and cause mud to kick up, resulting in a messy finish.

You can use latex or acrylic paint outdoors. Although acrylic paint tends to last longer outside, it also costs more, so if you’re painting the outside of your house, for instance, latex paint is often a go-to option. However, acrylic will be your best choice if you want to spend some extra money for added durability.

You can apply stain over peeling stain, but it’s not a good idea. Your old stain will get in the way of your new stain bonding to the wood, so you’re likely going to see the same issue again shortly after application. Your best option is to sand off the old stain and clean the surface thoroughly before applying new stain.

Typically, a fence requires one to two coats of stain. The exact number can vary depending on the porosity of the wood. For specific guidance, it's best to check the manufacturer's instructions. After applying the first coat and letting it dry completely, you can assess the finish. If it appears patchy, uneven, or you want a more saturated color, a second coat is recommended. An extra coat can also help cover lap marks.

Maintaining a composite fence is pretty straightforward, as it doesn’t require staining or repainting. To keep it clean, scrub the fencing with a composite deck cleaner or hot, soapy water. Use a soft-bristle brush for the best results, and avoid using pressure washers or sanders. Plan to clean your fence at least twice a year. Scrubbing the fencing in the fall and spring can help prevent mold and mildew growth.
