"Michael was my tile installer and his job was complete perfection. Customer Service was top notch. When the glass installer came out to measure, the level was exact, the job was perfect. I had porcelain and marble installed with a marble picture frame. It is absolutely stunning."

"I had a very positive experience dealing with AMF Brothers Granite Quartz Countertops & Cabinets. We finished out basement and needed countertops for the bar area as well as a bathroom. I chose a quartz which was very reasonably priced. The company was great in communicating when they would be there for measuring and installation and all the people I dealt with were very polite and professional."

"I was extremely happy with my experience with World Painting from start to finish.  Colby, the owner, was quick to respond to my request for a bid and arrived on time to scheduled appointments.  He is very professional as well as all of his staff.  He explained the entire process and even provided a consultant to help decide on paint color and options.  This was very helpful!  The painters always arrived on time, were very professional and respectful of my home, and cleaned up after themselves.  I have several friends who have used World Painting and they have all been happy with their results.  I will definitely call them again!

"We hired Mike because of his desire to make contact with us. He arrived at our home on time, assessed the situation and did what he could for a reasonable cost. However, at no fault of his, this did not solve the problem. I hope he might be able to suggest someone who can take this one step further."

"James Earl construction is a very busy firm , you might have to wait a while. We are still in the project hit a couple snags, but James worked them out to everybody’s benefit. The snags were no fault of the construction company. Work looks really good. I’ll send you before and after pictures when we get to the after. The crew is friendly and thoughtful and they clean up after themselves. I found their pricing to be reasonable."

"They were communicative and fast in offering a quote, and came out the same day to do the work after we accepted the quote. The work was well done, exactly as requested, and very reasonably priced. We'll be keeping them as our landscaper going forwards."

Marble and Granite FAQs, answered by experts

To remove cloudiness from marble, use equal parts baking soda and water to form a paste. Apply it to the surface, allow it to sit for at least two hours, then wipe with a microfiber cloth. Another option is adding a couple of dish soap drops to warm water and wiping the surface after you’ve applied it to the surface. You may also consider using a liquid stone cleaner.

No, you cannot use vinegar to polish marble. It is too acidic for cleaning or polishing and can etch the surface. Instead, opt for non-acidic cleaners made specifically for marble. Follow the manufacturer’s directions to ensure proper application and to protect the marble. However, a damp mop can be an effective marble cleaner when used appropriately and as long as moisture is immediately soaked up.

Yes, limestone often turns yellow over time when improperly cared for. The stone contains natural iron deposits, which can oxidize when exposed to water, acids, or harsh chemicals, such as bleach. Without exposure to water or chemicals, limestone should not turn yellow. Always seal limestone countertops to protect them from moisture, and only use gentle cleansers designed for stone.

Yes, you can repair a stone countertop yourself for minor issues like small chips or scratches, and DIY repair kits are available for this purpose. However, for larger problems such as major cracks or significant stains, DIY repairs may not be effective. In these cases, professional services are recommended to ensure a seamless finish, prevent further damage, and use the proper materials and techniques for a full restoration.

Rock salt and ice melts contain sodium chloride, aka salt, and are corrosive to metal and concrete. If used frequently over time, it can cause corrosion, discoloration, chipping, and cracking to patios, walkways, and driveways. You can try a rock salt alternative or hire a professional snow removal company instead.
