"I own a duplex up a few miles from where we live here. They put windows on both sides. The first side was kind of tricky because there are steps going down and they had to maneuver around the steps. They did great, they did a very good job. So the next time, when they came out to do the other side, I asked for the same guys and they told me they would send them, they didn't, they sent somebody else, but the other guys were just as good."

"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"
I wasn't sure this would end up to be a good idea but, it turned out a very pleasant experience. They did it all from start to finish. They spent the first day and a half gathering the trash and debris left by the tenants. They must have pulled four trailers worth of mess out to the dump. Then they went through the whole place; removing nails from the walls, doing the patchwork on the plaster and lathe (where we wanted it repaired and pulled out where we wanted drywall replaced), sanding all the spots and removing the mess. Then they started in with the heavy repairs in the putting in a couple of windows and hanging the drywall where needed, they taped off all the walls, fixtures and windows to ready it for paint. After painting and waiting for it to dry; then they started outside clearing out the brush and debris left behind. They also worked to dress up the yard with great ideas like window boxes and fresh flowers! . They did all the paint work inside the house and finished up by touching up the outside paint. They went back through the house last time and shampooed the carpets, cleaned the stove and fridge, and put fresh new chalk in all the needed spots. I know I may not have all the right terminology but, these folks Really saved the day! When they left the place was spotless and the time and money we spent was well worth giving up the headache of that mess to someone else and finding they'd done a great job! Wonderful!"

"In the end they left stuff around. They worked late at night and left things like broken glass in the sidewalks. The bricks that they had I don't know from where they got it from. They had in their thing that they will clean up anytime they work on somebody's roof. I thought they were pricey. I was disgusted with them. They weren't what I really expected. They didn't tell when they would be here. They were Mexicans and I wasn't really able to talk to anybody. The people who originally came I didn't see them again until they came down to collect the money. They didn't have supervision. The first time they were here they were on the roof and diagnosed it. I thought they should have one person here occasionally. They worked in the night and it was dark out here. I wasn't too impressed with them. I told them I will give them good rating if they do a good job. They were supposed to put rubber roof on the flat spot and the girl here told me they took the rubber through inside access and I was surprised to hear that and that was the first time. I thought they will cut the rubber roofing and the flat spot over the roof was the trouble spot. I paid double for what I paid in late 90's but that was a different company. The gutter was blown out on one side of the house and they didn't do that. They were here early enough. I called their number one day and went to the town for their office and there was no office there but somebody answered the phone at the number that they gave me. They were going to build something but they haven't started yet. The workers I thought did a good job even though I couldn't talk to them as they didn't speak the same language. They worked hard on it. The supervisor and people who ran the company I don't have anything good to say about them. I will not recommend them and tell people to be cautious. If I was rich guy $1000 wouldn't have bothered me. The exterior of the house looks bad. The insurance company came and they gave me $8300 to have the roof fixed and that included the two sides of the house and to put siding on. When this guy came up with $5700 for fixing the roof and the agreement was that they would do this job for no more money than the insurance company allowed so I was feeling good about it. I cannot judge their work but it looks good."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Cracked mortar, loose bricks, water damage, and efflorescence (white powdery deposits) are common problems.

The cost to install board and batten siding averages between $2.50 and $12.50 per square foot, including labor and materials. Major cost factors of this project include the square footage, the siding material, and the local labor rates. Additional costs include the number of windows and doors, the height of the home, and the painting or staining you want done to the siding.

Traditionally, you place a layer of ⅜-inch foam board beneath aluminum siding. This gives you a smooth surface to which you can fasten the trim and siding. Beneath the foam board, you should have some kind of waterproof sheathing to further protect your home from water damage. It’s possible this sheathing is already under your current siding.

The living space of a home doesn’t correlate directly with how many square feet of siding you’ll need, but on average, a 2,000-square-foot home will need 1,700 square feet of siding or 17 squares of siding. Your siding measurements will vary depending on the layout of your home, the number of stories, the size of your doors and windows, and even your roof style.

Although dish soap will work to clean some of the grime off the aluminum siding, it may not kill mold and mildew as efficiently as a cleaning solution you can buy at a hardware store. If you have oily or greasy substances on the aluminum siding, rather than mold and mildew, dish soap should work extremely well.
