"Needed two leaking hot water tanks replaced. Wagner & Sons was immediately responsive, gave me a full quote over the phone with a couple pictures, and showed up and installed NEXT DAY! Best service and best price, period! Everyone else insisted on me spending the day at home while a "Tech" (high pressure salesman) trapesed through my house giving me quotes that were 20-50% higher for same products!"

Customers say: Quick response

"Howard did an amazing job installing a bathroom exhaust fan in a very difficult location. We have an old duplex that was built in the 1920s and he went above and beyond to get it installed. It looks like it has always been there. Honestly I’ve never met anyone so knowledgeable and skilled in so many areas. If you need a project done, no matter how difficult, Howard will get it done. I highly recommend HW Home Repair!"

"While he was here, he tried very hard to sell me other services, grilling me about our sump pump, etc., which felt invasive.  After he left, I went outside to inspect the new faucet, only to discover irregular blobs of adhesive oozing all around it. So noticeable, you can still see the mess of it from our deck! Perhaps if he hadn't been so busy trying to sell me other services, he might've done the job properly!"

"Dillon was a great guy and worked fast and efficient. My house is 50 plus years old and the duct work had never been cleaned. Post the work, the house even smelled better. I am in the middle of a complete remodel and living in the house. I had all 11 vent grilles removed -(saved Dillon a pile of time not having to remove and re-install) and I would have thought a discount would have been in order."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

There are a couple of similar alternatives you may consider for a sewage ejector pump, including a grinder pump or a submersible sump pump. Submersible sump pumps protect your home from flooding from outside water, though, rather than handling wastewater from inside. A grinder pump macerates, or shreds, solid waste before pumping it onward to the sewer line.

Yes, a well-maintained sump pump can increase a home's value and make it more desirable to potential buyers; it does not lower property value. By protecting the basement from flooding and water damage, a sump pump provides peace of mind and can make the space usable for storage or as an extra room. For buyers interested in homes with basements, a working sump pump is a significant feature that adds value by ensuring the space is secure and less likely to flood.

If you’re wondering if your home even needs a sump pump, consider whether you’ve struggled with flooding issues in the past. If your house is in a flood-prone area, your yard has poor drainage, or you’ve dealt with any other water problems, then it’s likely well worth it to replace your old sump pump with a new one.

A small sump pump running infrequently uses an average of 10 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per month. The average cost for electricity is $0.171 per kWh. The size and use frequency affect how much electricity it uses. Sump pumps average one-third to one horsepower (hp) motors. One hp is equal to 745.7 watts. Watts multiplied by the time your pump is running divided by 1,000 equals your average kWh. Multiply kWh by your average cost of electricity. In areas with high rain or a marsh basin, the average cost can be as high as $15-$25 a month.

Most sump pumps come with power cords that can be plugged into an outlet, but there are options that can be hardwired into a home’s electrical system. Either way, it’s smart to have a backup power supply in case the electricity goes out during a storm. That way, the sump pump can keep running and removing water from the sump pit.
