They didn't even attempt to take the countertop off to do it that way. Every time I walked in the kitchen they were standing there looking at it. I finally asked if there was a problem. I was told then that it would take them all day to just get the cabinet out. Paying for labor for 2 guys I said no, I did not want to pay that and so I did not purchase the dishwasher. They tore up the bottom of my cabinet and part of the front.
I gave the guys a stack of rags and told them they could use them. Instead they used my pretty, white dish towel and it was covered in dirt and grime. When I said something to the guy about it he literally laughed in my face.
It took the same two guys 2 hours to install a do it yourself toilet. They tore up my bathroom wall, leaving large holes in the wall. The toilet top was put on crooked and wobbled so they had to send another guy out to fix that.
When I showed photos to the owner of the damage they had done, there was never an appology, offer to fix it or anything. I was still charged the full amount of the bill.

I had explained to him some of my concerns due to the cracking of the drywall ahead of time. When he arrived early on the destination, he walked us throughout the property giving us pointers and things that were not to code (but could be easily changed). When we went inside the house he was very thorough and took his time in analyzing the electrical lines, the bathrooms, the outlets, the garage, the kitchen, the fireplace. When it came to analyze the cracks on the walls, he also noticed that the doors close to the cracked walls were not closing properly. This was an indication of settling of the house or structural issues. He recommended I hire a structural engineer to take a closer look at the structure and foundation of the house since it needed a more specialized opinion. I went ahead and hired a structural engineer, and it turned out that the house had structural issues. The estimate to fix the structure of the house (according to the engineer) would be between $15,000 - $20,000. I did not purchase the home.

We install both exterior and interior home improvement projects including windows, doors, siding, roofing, garage doors, bathrooms, kitchen remodel, cabinet refacing, flooring, and countertops.
"These people are crooks! I gave them a $6,500 down payment for a $21,000 roof on a house I was selling. They said "sure, we can get it done." Two months later, no roof, no call, no nothing. I had to sell the house at a discount because of it. They never called me. I called them, but no one ever answered and their voicemails were always full. Never returned texts or emails."

The cost of cabinet refacing is $7,230 on average. However, it's possible to pay between $1,200 and $16,000 for this project. Factors like the number of cabinets and the refacing materials impact the total cost significantly.
For example, plastic laminate is the most cost-effective cabinet option for refacing, costing $1,000 to $3,000. If you're looking for solid wood cabinets, you can expect to pay more, ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 on average for refacing.
The cost to refinish cabinets is $3,000 on average. However, this cost can range from $700 to $6,000, depending on the size and location of the cabinets, the refinishing method, and number of cabinets.
Staining your cabinet doors is the most cost-effective option, costing between $4 and $10 per square foot. However, if you choose to glaze them, that price jumps to $10 to $25 per square foot.
The cost of home remodeling is $50,000 for the average homeowner. However, this cost can range anywhere from $3,000 for a small project to $170,000 for a whole home remodel. Factors like project size, location, and room type all affect your overall cost. For example, bedroom remodeling costs are one of the least expensive projects, costing about $1,500 to $5,500 per bedroom. However, a kitchen remodel has a significant cost range, totaling anywhere from $14,500 to over $70,000.
Yes, most states require home remodeling contractors to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed home remodeling contractor could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
The best time of year to remodel your home is late winter and early spring when fewer homeowners are thinking about projects and pros are more available. Also consider the type of remodel you want and plan ahead as much as possible. For example, the summer is a great time of year to update your fireplace, but winter is a better option for fixing foundations and building room additions.
