"Signed a contract to have my 2 car garage floor resurfaced and coated. Paid required deposit and was told it would be 6 weeks out. Company supplies a trailer for you to store contents of your garage while work is being done. I had to contact company at 5 weeks because I had not heard from anyone. I was told there were not sufficient trailers available but if I could store my garage contents they could do the job next week. Then I receive a call that my scheduled day had to be pushed back because of machinery issues. Then the following day I get a call that they have reviewed the condition of my garage floor and it is too far gone to handle the resurfacing process. Total incompetence ! Awaiting the return of my deposit."

"Installed roof on new construction home. 1 yr later several problems and signs of leaking. The roof has many low nails, some very low nails and some of those are blown all the way through. There are shingles missing right at the valley and have been missing for a while, the felt is not black at all anymore. There are probably 40 holes through the shingles where the siding installers nailed their pump jacks through the roof. There is a snow valley on the west side of the home where the valley is backwards allowing water to run underneath the snow valley. There are several face nails throughout the roof that were never sealed. There are a few face nails that serve no purpose where someone may have shot a nail gun on accident and did not replace the shingle. Overall the roof has many areas that need addressed. Contractor not taking responsibility. Would NEVER recommend!!"

While the benefits of garage door screens usually outweigh the downsides, there are some cons to installing one. First off, they can be quite expensive, especially if you’re having a professional install a retracting screen or a custom size screen. Second, they let fresh air and natural light in, but they also don’t provide the same privacy from people in the neighborhood that a solid door does. Pet-resistant, vinyl-coated polyester is one of the strongest window screen materials available, with some manufacturers touting a 7x increase in strength compared to standard fiberglass screens. Stainless steel security screens are also extremely strong, but they’re not suitable for coastal areas due to the risk of corrosion from salty sea air. If sea air isn’t a concern, stainless steel is extremely tough.

Window repairs cost $175 to $615, depending on the type of repair. Because double-hung windows have two sashes and multiple pieces of hardware, like locks and handles, there are many parts that can break over time. Repairing locks, latches, or other hardware costs about $75 to $200 and is easy to DIY. Fixing one or multiple sashes costs about $200 to $600.

The most common sizes of window screens are 24 to 36 inches wide by 36 to 48 inches tall. Most window screens of these sizes fit standard windows found in modern homes. However, you should always prepare for window screen repair or replacement by measuring the windows in your home for accuracy. Window screens outside of these dimensions will likely need to be custom ordered, increasing the cost to repair or replace them.

Window screens are available in several standard sizes, such as 18 inches by 14 inches or 20 inches by 20 inches. You can also order custom screens to match a non-standard window. Keep in mind that screens don’t necessarily have to fit the entire window, so you may be able to insert a standard-size screen even if your window is slightly larger.
