"I had Illinois Valley Insulation at my house to blow in insulation in my garage attic. I was told by the owner Scott Bickett that I needed an R30 value which means I would need about 8 1/4” of insulation blown in. He was paid in cash($1500 paid in full but only did half the work), and a couple of days later I went up there and measured and only have about 4 1/2 inches so he only did about half the work and charged full price. And when I confronted him, he told me there’s8 to 10 inches up there which is a lie and I’ve given him every opportunity to call come by Measure and prove to me that is there, but he has failed to do so because he is just proving my point that he is in the wrong. And now he still will not provide me with a receipt so he’s trying to keep the cash and hide it like he didn’t do the Work very unprofessional."

The answer is a resounding yes, as dishwashers save significant water and energy compared to washing dishes by hand. The difference is so drastic in fact that those who use energy-efficient dishwashers can expect savings of over $450 per year. This is because dishwashers use less water, they wash at a higher temperature than a hand rinse, and you don’t need to rinse them after washing. New dishwashers use around 4 gallons per load, whereas washing by hand can use up to 2 gallons per minute.

Motion-sensor lights use one watt while on standby and five watts while turned on. They’re usually on for one hour over a 24-hour period, bringing the total wattage to about 28 watts per day. Expect the test to take longer once you start searching for leaks with thermal imaging or want to include sealing such leaks in the time estimate. The test doesn’t take much time and can’t be rushed, but it will take longer in large homes or those with many air leaks.
