"They did a great job and went above and beyond. The landscape bricks were completed quickly and looks great. They are completing the grass patching that I have been fighting for years. I have recommended them to family members."

For 18 years I was an Outside Sales Representative for nearly all aspects for the building industry. Part of my success was the understanding of how these products worked, were installed and repaired. I have been servicing, repairing and installing every aspect of a home and yard for as long as I can remember. I will work with every customer to meet their needs for their project. Pricing is always fair and negotiable. Since I have sold most everything we would need for your project, I can also help you get the materials at a great price.

Home repairs and remodeling. In order to have quality control of my services I do not have any employees. Most jobs do not require additional help. I do have licensed and insured professional contractors to help to do major electrical, plumbing and concrete work. They have worked with me on many previous jobs and provide excellent quality work. You will pay the contractor for his services, I do not receive any compensation. Or you may choose a contractor. I use only quality products, no short cuts. I will provide a written proposal/estimate at no charge. Payment in full is due upon completion of job. Some large jobs may require a partial deposit for materials and incremental payments as the work progresses. Work area is cleaned daily and/or upon completion of job. No job is too small. Fully insured. 10% discount to customers 60 years old plus.

Rototilling questions, answered by experts

Yes, an excavation company is the best option for land grading and yard leveling. General landscapers might be able to tackle these projects, but an excavation company will do a better job because they’re used to operating the necessary heavy machinery. Landscapers might opt to do the work manually, which takes much longer and could cost you more in labor fees. Finally, excavation companies will understand local regulations and know when you need permits to legalize the work, while a landscaper might not.

Yes, rain can affect the results of a perc test because it will partially saturate the soil and slow down the rate of drainage. Ideally, you should do a perc test during the driest time of the year and try to schedule it after a stretch of days where no precipitation occurs. This will give you the best chance of passing.

Mobile homes need releveling every so often to maintain their structural integrity. Most mobile home manufacturers recommend releveling every three to five years. To keep the quality of your mobile home up for years and to avoid deterioration over time, proper maintenance is key.

Yard grading is a key component of proper drainage because runoff naturally moves with respect to gravity. If you have low spots in your yard, rain and snowmelt will settle there and oversaturate the soil, promoting root rot and fungal growth. If the low spots are near your home’s foundation, you could even end up with foundation leaks or structural damage due to poor yard grading.

Yes, you can rent a rototiller for around $60 per day and do the work yourself, but it’s not recommended. Tilling is more of an art than a science, as tilling too deep can be detrimental to your soil structure and the organic matter that is beneficial to plants and shrubs, and tilling too shallow won’t properly introduce fertilizer or break up the soil for rooting plants. Additionally, tillers are powerful machines with sharp blades to cut through small roots and soil, so they are inherently dangerous to use. It’s usually worth it to hire a professional rototiller.
